I used to think the same, but after consultation with a friend who would know I was told that US TF collectors seem to forget that there is a gigantic Asian market for these figures. In fact I'd argue that the 3P market survives due to a balance of sales between the east and the west and not predominately the west, as (again) most US buyers would initially assume.

 

What I think a lot of people don't consider is the sheer ginormity of China's population. Even if the fanbase is proportionately much smaller over there, it's in proportion to a vastly bigger total population.

 

So is this thread going to cover Da Vinci and Caravaggio as well? the original Da Vinci thread hasn't been touched since 2018.

Wow. The level of detail on the alt mode quint is amazing. The engineer's panel even has an intake, discharges and gauges for those discharges....and a transfer valve for Christ's sake. You can count me in for two of these.

Thank you for chroming the outriggers (the soft grey ones on the TT Inferno drove me nuts, along with the white fire hose still present on this). Barring a few nitpicks that only somebody who uses this equipment regularly would notice (outrigger placement and such), aesthetically, this thing NAILS it.

It seems they also upgrade the grapple too.

Toy Dojo happened to have MMC's Kojin (Artfire) for $160, so I went ahead and got one, this way my Hauler and Artfire are MMC, so I can get Dante and Da Vinci for my Inferno and Grapple. I like the official's disappearing ladder/boom trick, but just can't handle the blandness of the figures themselves.

 

Their Haulers pretty decent, I ended up painting his eyes red to make him seem more Constructicon like. The only other thing I wished they did was tint the windows purple to fit with the former Constructicon motif.

 

I wonder if you could put some of that colored window tint on the backside of the windows to get them to the right color.

 

It *might* be doable, need to disassemble a good portion of the torso for space though, had a quick look at the inside and it's tight quarters. Couldn't get a good look to see if the windows could get popped out, need to get it properly under a desk lamp but it looks like a fairly large bit of clear plastic inside the chassis, the side window hinge is part of the same clear plastic also. Bit worried about dismantling it as it looks pretty awkward.

Here's a quick pic of a slight attempt at a constructicon style head btw, had a spare one from the original MMC Inferno release which was plain black so worked on that. Painting central crest was a bitch, needs another coat of silver. It's only minor accenting but otherwise he's just really plain.

 

I was just about to ask this thread if the toy helmet was an option for inferno and then I the few posts above me.
