Yes it is; I was being funny (and failing).

I heart my PotF2 Luke from Pulse... well the packaging anyway. The figure inside is still kind of doofy looking, and I still would have preferred a ML beefcake buck used for the body, but what can you do?

I skipped Greedo because I remembered him more from being on a Green card. Boba Fett for me was on an Orange card. I am curious as to whether they'll do the circle/triangle print variations on the hand (or which one they'll go with if any).
I'm game for any of the original wave, plus Lando, Leia, and Boba Fett. I refuse to go down a rabbit hole for any/all PotF2-inspired releases, though.

And I have to admit that upon seeing TPM-carded Jar-Jar at Best Buy today, I was briefly tempted. If it had been Qui-Gon, I would have caved.

Yeah, I think the orange cards only lasted two or three waves.

The only problem I have with these POTF2 homage cardbacks is that it's cheaper to buy the actual, original POTF2 figures on those same cardbacks!

Also for the time it was the only thing we had. I like the more vintage style card back we got.

So nobody is talking about this? Is it just too painful to talk about?

People need to get over it and need to understand what is happening in the world, and that toys should be one if the last things shipped. I understand that a few if these maybe gifts, but you have time to buy something else for this year. Companies like Hasbro, Hot Toys, Mattel, and the others that get the majority of there products produced and shipped, should be given positive feedback for running there companies and getting most of there product out over the past two years.

No, it was mentioned on the latest livestream that shipment was delayed. I'm okay with it since I still don't have room for that monstrosity.
I can understand people being frustrated though since it was essentially a paid pre-order.

But as mentioned above, the world is still going through it, and delays seem to be everywhere now.
The world caught the COVID virus, and the toy industry caught the MAFEX virus.

Man, I’ve been collecting Star Wars for over 40 years and probably have several full cases worth of the original POTF figures. I never noticed or paid any care towards if the card was green or orange. Is there any other significance to the different color backs or just “I like one color more than the other”?

The line started with the orange cardbacks; the first two waves were from what I remember. I don't know if it hit Wave 3. It transitioned to green and stayed that for a while.

I take it certain characters were only released with certain color backs and that’s what the fuss is about?

No, I honestly think everything got the green cardback eventually. To me it's just that those were the first Star Wars figures I knew, so I think I just prefer the orange since it was first.

The first wave to transition from Orange to Green was the Greedo/Death Star Gunner/R5-D4/Tusken Raider wave (Wave 4, iirc). I think I managed to pick up R5-D4 in Orange, but everything else was pretty much solid Green where I was.

After the Orange-to-Green transition came the Colour-to-Holofoil transition on the card art.
There was also the Shadows of the Empire in Purple and Expanded Universe in Green but with a cardboard pop-out diorama piece in the back.

If Hasbro ever do a Black Series Dash Rendar, he better be on that SotE retro card.

I purged all of my old PotF2 carded figures except for a Palpatine and Kyle Katarn. Honestly, I think the reason that retro-cards work so well on 6" figures across all properties is because it makes them feel as big now as they felt big back then (even though I was already a teenager during PotF2).

The only thing I remember is the odd "non holofoil" carded figures. I think the Sandtrooper came in both variants. Fake Edit: So quickly looking on Google Images I see that was one where it was an Orange Card no holofoil and then Green Card with holofoil. That might be what I'm remembering.

I have no idea why I bought the 50th Anniversary Qui-Gon Jinn that is sitting on my shelf when I just opened up all of my old Star Wars figures that I had carded and in boxes to free them all. I mean it looks good on the shelf, but I really shouldn't have bought it.:lol

I think everyone understands and is aware of it. However the pandemic excuse only goes so far. Hasbro is managing to release other product and get it out the door this year. The difference is they already have our money for the Razer Crest but don’t have our money for the other products. It seems like it’s in their best interest to delay the thing they’ve already been paid for so they can collect more money now.

You realize that "other stuff" they're managing to get out is barely coming out in any large quantity and only coming in spurts right? Besides, if what you're suggesting was the case both Sentinel and HeroQuest would be have been delayed as well and they weren't. Sometimes shit happens and the fandom just needs to learn to put on its big girl panties and deal. I think the fact that most people aren't bothering to talk about this outside of an "oh, sucks, okay moving on" from what I've seen shows that the majority of the fandom accepts that due to current circumstances... shit is going to happen.

I think I remember people peeling off the holofoil stickers too because there was perceived value in the non stickered ones

Mmmm no, it goes pretty far, what with it affecting the entire world and shutting down the third largest shipping port on the planet.

Ports are closed, work forces are reduced to a fraction, but they're still trying to get stuff out. If your workforce is reduced to a tenth, it's still going to work, just at a tenth the speed.
