Yeah, theres no "Boutique" here. Haslab products are strictly things Hasbro doesnt think will be profitable at retail. Not that they cant afford, or how much more we should get for our 180 bucks, but how much will they PROFIT.
It got nothing to do with what some think they "should do" or what "they owe us" for that amount of money. Those are just feelings that dont factor into the equation. Hasbro figures this is what they can give us for 180 bucks and still profit. Its not even about if its "worth it" or not. Even if its not thats still the price it will take for them to produce this toy.
Thats the only reason they make this stuff. If they dont think they will get enough profit from any product they arent doing it. And thats fine, thats what companies do.

So its simple. They showed us what we will get and how much it will take for them to make a safe profit on each unit sold and either you think its worth it or not.
I'll just be happy if we can get to 11000. I would like the V-lock cannon and other things thrown into the stretch tiers, but Im under no illusions we will get it and Ill probably have to go to to third party for any extras and thats okay with me. I still feel its a fair price for what Im getting.

This sounds like something that someone who's never owned a Botcon toy would say.

Yeah, I think we all like the new version of "Botcon" toys better. Hasbro just makes them, puts them in plain brown boxes, sells them at or around retail and ships them right to your door. Zero pretense.

Don't forget that botcon toys were many times the price of their size class. And you HAD to buy the full box set, whether you wanted them all or just 1. How many people would pass on the new SG toys if they were a solid box set @$500?

HasLab and Selects >>>>>>>>> Anything and Everything BotCon

Us unwashed masses can have the exclusive toys too for reasonable prices and without having to worry about scalpers taking the entire stock because we got in line late (...wait) or credit cards being compromised because Pulse is a website design from thirty years ago in current year.

Plus the actual toys offered aren't straight repaints or head remolds of whatever was lying around in unsold stock that year.

Dunno. I bought all of them so wouldn’t really make a difference to me.

The whole "it's more limited i.e. it must be higher quality" doesn't really work when that could be applied to retail figures these days. :lolol

Well if that is the case my interest in HasLab is even lower. When I see the Marvel and Star Wars stuff being done, the Razor Crest in particular, it looks to me like they are trying to go to something higher end. But I guess they aren't.

To me, if you are being asked to drop 100% of the cash that far in advance the product needs to be better. Or if it isn't better, at least have a decent support system in place for after sale service and spare parts. The main issue for me is that Unicron did not have enough spare parts to cover everyone. They had a few and then they ran out and now if you have an issue you're out of luck. Also they were only willing to supply some parts and not others.

Anyway, I will back out of this thread again and let the rest of you discuss. I hope everyone backing this gets a great product in the end. Good luck everyone!
