I have tendency, some say problem, where I mix the left overs of various cleaning products and make a super soak I call “Dip”. If it can melt a toon it can clean a buck. I used it to deflock 1 of my 4 Motuc Mossmen. now I don’t remember exactly what all is in it but here is what I have on hand when I strip paint. isopropyl alcohol 90% or higher Acetone: I used it on my custom Jordans so it’s always there. Paint thinner Screen print squeegee cleaner Goo Gone Any spray kitchen and/or br cleaners that are strong enough to cut through grease. Bleach. everyone has their own methods. But I suggest a wash with a brush and dawn first. Then soak. Brush as you Rinse, dry. next submerge them in an isopropyl bath, as long as NOT transparent plastic, over night. Brush using the isopropyl. Don’t rinse yet. Re soak, repeating steps 2 more times. You can soak again over night if you want. Brush again, use a cloth or magic eraser dipped in the isopropyl like a wet sand. Rinse. Let dry. if you still have paint you can move on to more stronger chemicals with qtips and cotton rounds. High grit sand paper helps but sometimes you only need a fingernail. all factory paints aren’t the same. Some come off instantly nd other weeks at time. My fingers were shredded from moss man. I’ve included some pics of stripped paint. I hope this helps and wish you and everyone out.
I also noticed on Target.com that the landshark price went up to 32.99 dollars. I bought 2 Landshark from Target.com about 2 months ago for $29.99 each.
That's not the only thing that went up in price. The Rise of Evil 2-Pack is now $32.99 on the website. Some stores have even raised it up to $36.99.
I just noticed the price increase on the Rise of Evil 2-pack online to $32.99 dollars. What I am surprised at is so far the Battlefield Warriors 2-pack hasn't had a price increase up from $49.99 since that pack really seems like the hot popular hard to find Origins Target exclusive.
Bad news: finally got both vintage style Mer-Man and Skeletor with vintage style head. The former is probably the biggest lemon I've gotten so far, he's got a derpy eye and his joints are really loose, especially his neck which has like zero friction. He's practically a bobblehead. Skeletor has some noticeable paint scratches on his face and what seems to be some kind of oily substance on his chest; didn't even bother opening him. Still have vintage head He-Man on the way, I hope he'll be a bit less of a turkey. Good news: actually managed to order the Mysteries of Grayskull set from the powercon website, wasn't expecting that to happen.
Has any one tried using purple power to strip paint from the MOTU figures? I use it to strip chrome or old paint off model kits. It doesn't harm the plastic or resin from the kits I've stripped. Only problem is that you have to soak the part for like 24hrs and then you just brush off the chrome or paint with a toothbrush.
Totally agree with you man! That's why I'm not too torn up about missing on the exclusives - my gut feel is that we will definitely see Mattel re-using that mold like they did with the LOP boxset - just that they will use different colours. Dude...what show is that? It looks so familiar but I honestly can't place it??? Yup, I will buy them...tbh I will buy whatever figure/animal/playset that came out in the vintage line. Will the limbs be removable - the cool part of the WWE Master line was that the figures could swap parts. Nice thanks for sharing - the darn thing I find is that the "strength" of the paint Mattel is using is so inconsistent. I managed to remove some "stray" paint on some of my figures' faces with just a tiny drop of nail polish remover. Then on the other hand we have the paint on Battlecat (stripes) and BA Battlefield He-man's (wounds) that are seemingly impossible to remove. I recall some of Mattel lines were the paint would come off very easily such as the Mattel WWE lines (not sure if this is the case). Whoa, if I were a card collector...I would be cheesed off... Nice! He was one of my top 5 MOTU figures in the vintage line!
The limbs will probably be removable but keep in mind some newer figures have started using bigger arm pegs.
And when I said… Also we are all aware of the mix match ability but do you know there are more the head, shoulders, knees, and toes. This is what I meant. Pic via Hebro YouTube.
and that’s the rub. I AM. The vast majority I keep sealed. If it’s a carded figure that will get destroyed opening and I want it enough to open it I get two. My misb/mosc way outweighs my loose. I’ll even look to buy packing to replace damaged ones or for said loose figs. A crispy mib with the tape cut doesn’t require a second unless it’s something very special.
Ahhhh…that feeling when you watch the pegs at Target and wait for those last three Skeletors to finally vanish. Two months go by and one disappears, then another, and finally as fall approaches you feel your spirt lift as you notice there is only one Skeletor left, and nothing else. A restock must surely loom. New waves are nigh. Then it happens. You walk into the aisle and see the pegs full. The day has finally arrived. You quicken your pace, try to still your beating heart…. Ten more Skeletors, nothing more.
For what it’s worth, I recently used Goof Off adhesive/residue/gunk remover to strip the paint from the legs of the recently released NECA TMNT movie April O’neil figure. It took the paint right off and did zero harm to the plastic. You might consider giving that a shot…but I would suggest trying it on an inconspicupus area first since I HAVE seen Goof Off affect other plastics in the past.
Because Skeletor has his own SKU and DPCI selling though all the Skeletor figures will only get more Skeletor figures. If you want to see the empty pegs get filled you'll have to ask an employee to check with the scan-a-ma-jig.
It's from a B-film 80's Sword and Sorcery film "Deathstalker". I think the same creature also made an appearance in "Deathstalker II", even with some of the same footage reused.
I know. The line has been the four same figures since about a year ago. Get used to paying $15.99 $16.99 $17.99 $18.99 at BBTS.
So did Mattel address the poor distribution at Powercon? Not that I would expect anything more than an empty corporate answer.
