Ah, the little mini cup things are the horns for his hip speakers. I never would've figured that out. Thanks!

The side view is the only bad angle in my opinion… the chest sticks pretty far out and the torso is super flat, so there’s a huge “shelf” that looks kinda silly. If the belly tapered out toward the chest, or if they copied NA’s trick of collapsing the car’s front bumper into the hood, I don’t think I’d have anything to criticize.

Mild disappointment at the width of the hood in botmode but minor gripe. Overall grade: gimme.

You kept that Magic Square Megatron with the big shiny spot defect on this chest? You should have returned him and gotten a replacement. I finally got my replacement Megatron from TCP after 8 months of waiting. Replacement has none of that irritating "shiny spot" syndrome MS is so well known for.

It looks fine, but is way too tall for Magic Square's own scale.

I'm talking about all of their carbots. They're all way too tall. I know that the Wheeljack is not theirs, but it doesn't work for the Magic Square scale as well.
I know that the scale chart is unreliable at times, so I'm using the MP line, which is the most accurate scale we currently have. Carbots should be slightly above Prime's waist, while these are already reaching his windows.

Yeah, Jazz and the rest of MST's carbots don't work according to MP scale. But how does it follow that they don't work according to MST scale?

    I'm confused!

The MFT scale is based on an already existing height measurement in proportion to one another, otherwise Soundwave could be smaller than bumblebee or Sea Spray could be bigger than prime, and other such random things. Early Magic Square figures were all over the place, though recent releases seem to be getting closer to the either the Sunbow scale or the MP. The only holdouts seem to be their carbots.

I don't make a fuss about such a minor thing. It's a toy. I can only see that spot if I really look for it or get in close. Also that Megatron's place in my legends collection has been taken by the metallic version so it doesn't really matter all that much anymore. He is still around, though - he's been moved to my Optimus/Megatron shelf.

"Accurate." Not gonna get into a debate about what scale is actually accurate but I don't think it really matters all that much. Especially at this scale, it's better if the smaller guys are a little bigger. I will say, though, that I actually do agree - NA's carbots to MST's leader bots are a closer match to MP's carbots to leaders, but they all look squat and stumpy looking.

He's saying that MST's smaller bots don't scale to their larger ones. According to the scale chart and MP scale, he's right. I just don't think it's actually a problem and I prefer it this way (I used to not but I came around).

This is the kind of weirdness that Magic Square had for their earlier releases.

This is the perfect scale between those characters for me. I really need to work on getting that TW Wheeljack, I like the look of the weathered one.

To be fair, Seaspray is a Hovercraft. I remember seeing somewhere a picture of HFTD Seaspray with I think some IF bots and he doesn't look too absurdly out of place. (And since IF is doing Seaspray eventually, you could always use the repaint)

I think you’re saying that photo should look something more like this scalewise, assuming blaster and SW would be the size, right? I think I kind of like the MS scale :)

Whoa! I didn't realize their Blaster was that tiny. I've got the MFT OSKO and it's actually a little too big (I mean it fits perfectly with MFT stuff but it's too big to go with MST's figures).
