It could also be a meant to prevent people from ordering 1000 units and canceling the order at the last minute-just for the sake of pranking Hasbro. I don’t think Hasbro wants the order numbers to wildly fluctuate with people ordering/canceling large numbers just to troll the system. We see live pre-order numbers on the site, and it would look bad.

That makes the most sense. Or, someone inflates the numbers to hit a stretch goal and then dumps their orders right before the deadline.

Can confirm you can contact Hasbro directly for a special purchase. It does require sign statements, attestations etc. as to why the purchase is being made, the group its for & promises against retail etc. It's how I did it for a large group of friends/fans. They do not refuse big pots of cash. But, they sure do make it difficult to give them said hugh pot o cash.

You don't know what the last minute is going to be though. Once it gets enough backers, they collect payments.

Now that the Sentinel is out people are complaining that it should have so much extra stuff that wasn't even hinted at during the campaign. One was complaining that it should have LEDs throughout the entire figure for the price they paid for it, completely ignoring that is over 2ft tall and made up of literally hundreds of articulated pieces. For example a 1ft tall gundam model I bought was $180 and the upgrade kit for it to have LEDs throughout the model was $160 because electrical components cost a lot more than just plastic. The Titan figures are big but mostly hollow while the Sentinel is pretty much all solid plastic with much more detailed sculpt work, paint apps, swappable parts, and LEDs so I don't want to hear anyone trying to make that price comparison either. People have become so entitled now and it so annoying.

Not going to argue with you there but the fact that Haslab relied on friction joints for his hips and knees when designing a 2ft tall figure is pretty ridiculous. They gave him ratcheted fingers but not legs? That seems to be a fairly foolish decision just from a production standpoint.

I think he's right about a lot: distribution, volume, pre-orders, how trash the Hasbro Pulse site is, etc

Hell when you click the Back in Stock button, the first three items it shows are sold out.

I don't think there's ever been a transformer that large that hasn't had ratcheted knee joints. Takara designers haven't ever made that mistake, to my knowledge.

That said, this is mostly hot air for outrage YouTube clicks and pearl clutching engagement. Definitely overblown for what it actually is.

The Marvel Legends design team did that, Haslab is just a marketing platform that the different design teams use.

Well i said i was going to wait till i see more videos on this guy. I couldn't resist since unicron did'nt fail me with haslab and i'm pretty happy with what i got from unicron. I'm putting my faith in this guy. I hope everything turns out well even though I already have mp star saber and kfc kimba. I always like a good transformer despite what everyone say about haslab. Yes its dear but i'm a collector of everything nice and wonderful of good old japanese cartoon robots. I have watched a few star saber clips and not bad i'd say. I even got god ginrai both takara with the perfect effect add on kits and as well as fanshobby ones too.. This will look good with them.

    Anyway...
I'll be backing a second one shortly, and do see this hitting the stretch goals without difficulty.
More than anything I'm excited to have the full set finally. I have the MP for Star Saber, but since they never made Victory Leo, this project will fill that shelf spot nicely.

This week would be perfect for a FFF to show off the paintjob on VS. Just about 1/2 through the campaign and over 69% funded. We could use it for boosting hype!

Again, I understand the frustrations on investing huge sums on a product and get disappointed about it not delivering. We can either walk away or be stuck with a lemon.

PvsP mentioned this, the joints(knees) not having ratchets.

Well at least Victory Saber ain't that expensive.

Definitely hit a slow spell on this guy, but we got well over halfway to even the first stretch goal, so he's in no danger. Just gotta hope the Takara orders open up sooner rather than later.

Frankly, our stall space has been better than most other haslabs. This is over half way funded in its stall spot, Unicron was barely at 30% at his stall and Galactus was FROZEN at just under half way for a week or two.

It was actually worse. Galactus was stalled around 70% for just over 20 days.

Takara isn't waiting until Wonder Festival are they?

It is all just highly curious, maybe Takara's order is already in and they are just going to sell them at regular retail in Japan?
