I don't know if this is the same list you saw before, but it is the one I'm aware of so I figured I'd share it since you can't find one.

Poor Hook has clubbed feet and knob knees. He looks like he's wearing prescription shoes.

ik that it's in poor taste to bash things, but just look at the other set objectively. There's a lot of cut corners

If you google “never go full toon” there’s a meme I made. :)
honestly, I think it’s exactly what they were going for, it’s almost a spitting image of the artwork, same with long haul. I mean, they literally made his legs look there’s no knee joint, wow Lolol. I just think the artwork was shite to begin with, so not sure how a physical manifestation of the shite art wouldn’t also be shite in plastic (IMO). But some people love it. Not for me.

I agree. These being as close to a literal translation of the character models was doomed to fail. And the execution of certain parts didn't help matters either. I really do think Newage dropped the ball on this set.

Scrapper and Hook's exposed ball hips are a little rough on the eyes. The feet situation is also really rough. I know there is a replacement set coming soon, but the 1.0 is rough.

“doomed to fail” may be a bit of an exaggeration, it seems like the thread is about the same size and there are plenty of takers, I don’t think it’s going to be a bust as far as sales. But I agree they dropped the ball for a lot of us who aren’t feeling that style… but MS came through so it’s all good. More for everyone :thumb

    Too true.

This is why I love having both NewAge and Magic Square. NA tries to nail the Sunbow look as much as they can while MST uses it for inspiration while giving their figures more of a real world touch.

I don’t see real world. They are still as cartoony as NA. NA is Sunbow art. MS has more heroic comic book look. Which sucks because I want them to do a G1 comic Megatron.

I see MS as a little more this than the sunbow art. Just me tho.

I feel like NA is being slavish to the model designs but that was seldom what actually appeared on screen. Granted that could change wildly within a given episode but take Longhaul for instance. Do his upper legs look like that in this scene from Heavy Metal War?

Fair enough. I honestly couldn't think of a different way of saying it. But I do stand by my opinion, the cartoon accuracy of NA Hook just looks rough. And derpy. It does a have a certain charm, but it still looks derpy to me.

In my opinion, the Constructicons (and Devastator too) are some of the most difficult TF characters to get 'toon accurate'-right in toy form. There's just so much stylization going on in their cartoon models, that it makes the challenge almost impossible to complete with a success.
The effort by NA is commendable, and I love how their Devastator ended up looking, but the single bots feel pretty weak to me personally. Some details appear very faithful and pleasant, but at the same time they amplify the less accomplished/rougher bits to a critical degree.
While I build both sets side by side, I can't help but believe the design decisions by MST paid off better, at least in terms of team-display. It has to be seen how well MST Devastator will fare, compared to NA's or their own Menasor.

Got my set of MS Scrapper and Mixmaster yesterday from ShowZ. As far as I can tell I don't have any QC issues. I have 11 Legends class figures from MS and NA and I haven't had a single QC issue yet. Not sure if that is luck or not. My only issue so far is that the transformations are not intuitive at all and I'm most likely going to need some help from a video review. But imo that is typical of most third party figures. I think they look fantastic in bot mode and the colours are OK to me. they match the other MS figures I own very well. They all have a bit of a faded, pastel look to them but I dig it.

ShowZ packed these really well and the box arrived in perfect shape. They used corner protectors on the MS box, bubble wrap around that, then a shipper box with corner protectors on that as well and then the ShowZ bag around that. I was very impressed.
