Got my preorder in for 3 Skrulls and the Excalibur set. It does kind of suck that I couldn't get it all on the same order as the Spidey stuff, but whatever.
Are any of the heads in the SHIELD pack based on actual members? The one kind of looks like Jimmy Woo, but I'm not sure about the other two.
Not a bad legends day for me. Ordered Symbiote Spidey, Ben Spidey, Hobgoblin, and Shocker.....and my Sentinel was delivered today and will be waiting for me when I get home
I was looking at my old ToyBiz 90s X-Men Cameron Hodge Phallanx figure and yeah, I want him in Marvel Legends. Pretty much the same exact design/colour scheme just with updated articulation and maybe an X-Factor era alternate "solo" head from his "immortal" self.
Got what I could from Amazon and then hit up pulse for the skrulls and shield agents. Spent enough to get free shipping which is good. Trying to avoid the premium membership since I don’t think I use them enough to merit it.
Got everyone except Hobgoblin from Amazon to open and then got a case from EE to keep carded. The new Hobby just isn't different enough for me to need one open, I'm good with the current one. Also grabbed Excalibur from Pulse, almost an hour after they were made available to non-Pulse people, and they're still up. I really only want Shadowcat, so I'll probably sell Brian and Meggan when I get it in.
I missed out on that too and just have the Toy Biz one(which aged well surprisingly, I think the 4H did most of the sculpt if not all of it). I only saw the Hasbro one at Kmart I think in 2018 for $24.99 but fuck that noise lol. Good thing I passed now that this new one has been revealed and looks different.
Man, Symbiote Spider-man didn’t even make the top 100 best sellers on Amazon and he’s sold out? How few of these do they make? Lame.
Was able to PO Shocker on Amazon and all the Spideys over on BBTS when they first went up. The power went out in my house so I had to drive to a parking lot for good reception, and it payed off.
F*ck. I was on Pulse when Symbiote Spidey was up, but I didn't pull the trigger. Hopefully this is just FOMO and I'll actually get him somewhere.
I can't imagine he'll stay sold out forever. I saw a few ones on Pulse go sold out but within a few days they went back up so given the demand for sure Pulse will order another round for more POs.
So here's a question - do I like the retro cards because they're nostalgic or because the packaging is more dynamic than the standard, modern ML packaging? I think my answer is yes. The only modern-packaged figures that I've left MISB are ones that I bought and lost interest in before I ever got around to opening (e.g. Frog Man and Playstation Spidey). But I heart looking at my retro-carded collection on the wall and have even found it difficult to throw away the packaging on the figures that I've opened. That said, I dunno if I'd want all figures on retro-cards indefinitely. Just maybe Spider-man and X-Men figures going forward.
