There's one 都 (short for 首都) : Tokyo, one 道 : Hokkai-dou, two 府 (Osaka and Kyoto) and the rest are 県 numbering around 40 plus.

I was typing with simplified chinese keyboard and i didnt have access to traditional chinese characters, my bad  but u r right about all that

 

If you use Google pingyin, you can switch between simplified chinese or traditional chinese, I think a lot other input also support that.
