My Skateboard Gorilla has been sold.  

 

So looks like there will be some sort of variant / rerelease of this done up in the Takara colors.

I gotta say... I think they really nailed the look here of that plastic and the gold chest.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the sparkly Takara style (which I personally really like) reissue comes with only half the base for the stand? Virtual Dave just got his and it appears its not jut missing but the plastic tray isn't shaped to accommodate it?

 

I hope they re-release this in Apelinq colors.

 

no the new one came with the full stand and accessory package that the first release came with. the box art is also identical to the first version.

 

That stand was hot garbage. Never held mine in place.

Great news about the metals upgrades, but where's my damn Apelinq???

 

100% the worst stand I own. I'll probably trash my copies TBH! (But I'll use them for painting practice first - I'm not a monster!)

 

Man I want optimal optimus already.

 

agreed the stand is way too wobbly for the weight of the figure and the base is too small to hold it in any meaningful pose.

 

So is there anywhere to get the original anymore?

 

It's still available on Taobao. I just ordered one. Show.Z store looks like they still have it as well?
Actually, ignore that. Looks like the Show.z listing is for the new version.
And I have no idea which one I've ordered from TaoBao. The listing on the page seems to show pics for both versions

Keep us updated! I have no interest in the new version, so hoping I can either find the old one or pray for a rerelease.

 

Hummm.... just got mine and just like my friend, just one half of the stand. The tray isn't even moulded to accommodate a second piece.

 

To be fair, one stand is all you need to have the monkey fly around.

 

Oh agreed, I don't miss it per se. I just find it odd that they took one out and even went to the extra effort of re moulding the tray.

 

For your info, confirmation from the factory themselves via the excellent folk from @ShowZStore . The reissue comes with just one stand.

Sadly I agree with this, its even worse on Cheetor who's connection to the stand is laughable. It's why I wont be pushing for a second stand from ShowZ lol

 

Not really a fan of the plastic they used with the 2021 reissue.. If any of you guys see any place still selling a first run version of this guy, please let those of us who prefer that version know!

I hope TransArt does an reissue of the original deco later down the line now that they have a new TM Megatron in the works.
