It always seemed extremely strange to me, the way of insignias applied in flight mode. Correct flyway applying on the nosecon and opposite applying on wings:

Yeah, now I see the clue: to make it upside-down in bot mode.

Pretty sure it started as a joke "you guys aren't going to put them the 'wrong' way, now are you?;) " then some well meaning people did their best to offer insight into which way is correct and well here we are. Personally I'm going to put four logos on each wing, one facing each cardinal direction.

This would've been funny enough but then you went and put one upside down and one not. :lol  Just beautiful.

I don't put insignias on Starscream at all if I can help it. Seems to me that alt-mode insignias go against the whole "Robots in Disguise" vibe. Robot mode only insignia for me all the way.

Plus he's a Decepticon, and wearing his actual allegiance on his sleeve wouldn't be very deceptive...

I seem to recall reading a fan theory on these very forums about how Starscreams Decepticon symbols were upside down as a sign of disobedience and/or rebellion against Megatron. Of course I never really payed that close attention to the details of the crudely drawn cartoon, I just watched and enjoyed it. Though I just noticed MP-52 Thundercracker and Skywarp are also upside down now as well...

So let me reiterate; place them however you like. It's your toy.

never make an offhand joke on TFW or it turns into 3 pages of fanboys losing their mind. After visiting this place for 17 years I should already know this but it surprises me every time.

Finally got mine! Also, is there any recommended stand for this guy? I'd love to put him in some aerial poses.

I'm glad mine didn't come with any major paint defects at least, though I have spotted some minor paint chipping out of the box, but surprisingly it doesn't bother me.
I love how they basically had the grey and red areas done in matte paint, while the blue areas are in this nice, glossy finish.

I love how solid he feels for the most part, but some areas are kinda squeaky tight. I hope the plastic is strong enough in the long run. I'll probably take a look at that video earlier and see if there's any areas that need to be loosened up just for safety. Anyone else feel the front skirts are too tight or is that just normal?

And yes, you'll have to sand the null ray pegs.

Overall, pretty solid bot mode. Someone please make more faceplates and a coronation gear soon...

I'll transform him later on when I find the time.

"How do you feel, mighty Megatron?"

"But plasma energy is unstable! No Cybertronian has been able to tame it since...the Golden Age!"

"Then stand back, Starscream. And watch me tame it, as I have tamed you."

So... those little plastic bits around his feet... those aren't from him, are they?!

Ahaha, nope. Those were from a Gundam model kit I was building earlier. I was cleaning up but then procrastinated by opening this guy. :D

Looks like an area where he paints and puts together gundams and other such kits. You can see kit parts in the images.

lol, okay. Had me very worried for a moment. The colors of the plastic bits matched his color scheme too well.

People's timing to get on and free time to read many posts is highly variable so more often than not reposts will be the first time some people see things. I figure it is always better to have something posted 2, 3 or more times than 0 anyway.

Such an undervalued sentiment. Other than a couple of secondhand figures none of my 3P figures have insignias for that reason.

I ordered this from TF-Direct. The box arrived crushed and there's a 'gash' or what looks like a knife mark on the front thigh. I've emailed their customer service a couple times but no reply. With the packaging and figure damaged, I won't keep him. What's the best way to get hold of TF-Direct? Shall I just raise a case with PayPal now?

How long ago did you email? I've never had any issues with them responding and taking care of problems myself. Just don't expect responses within a few hours or something.

Yup, definitely wouldn't want to spoil his disguise as a red and blue F-15.

So...mine is here today. This is for sure the most excited I've been in a while for a new figure. I think I've gotten to the point where I've collected so many figures that weren't favorite characters after becoming a completionist for seasons 1 & 2 that I've become a little burned out and "meh" about my collection of late. But Starscream was always a favorite character, and being able to get one that looks as good as this guy is pretty exciting. Up to this point I've had the old Walmart MP, then mp11, and now make toys Starscream. Even though make toys does an admirable job I think this guy looks great and I'm stoked.
