The licensing for the WFC figure has NOTHING to do with the MP figure beyond a prior license existing (for the original MP figure that Hasbro did release domestically). That's it. Period. Hasbro didn't need a license for MP-21 because they didn't release MP-21 as one of their own products, so there was nothing to be "carried over". Hasbro had to obtain the license specifically for the WFC figure. Takara's licensing for the VW Beetle has absolutely nothing to do with Hasbro getting the license for the VW Beetle.

I didn't say it did. All I was trying to say is that it started with the use of the VW Bug for Bumblebee when Takara did the MP. Licensing had to be done. Hasbro and Takara doing the WFC line having the VW Bug will necessitate the licensing renewal.

You heavily implied (via your choice of words) that Hasbro was somehow using Takara's VW license since they both released the same physical toy, and that the license for the WFC VW is the same as the one obtained for MP-21 (which was produced in 2014 and Hasbro also licensed).

You were corrected in that the license for the WFC figure is not any sort of carry over (your words) from the MP or from Takara, yet refused to accept it gracefully and decided to continue this back and forth. I'm sorry you don't like being corrected, but you were wrong in your choice of wording at least.

 

If anything, the precursor would be Hasbro getting the VW license for the Bumblebee 2018 movie merchandise.

I wished that the crossover series would at least maintain a semblance of scale (with the exception of aircraft alternate modes; those would be too big if they are to scale with CHUGs). Gigawatt was in the perfect scale for a current deluxe; Ectotron is too big while JP93 here looks slightly undersized.
Yes there’s that price point consideration. I guess that kinda limits JP93’s size.

Now if only hasbro take a good hard look at Jeep Bumblebee from the Studio Series and repaint it as the JP Jeep Wrangler. That’d be sweet!

I actually thought that when I first saw that set at Target. To be honest, it actually looks like a pretty good set.

As for the Crossover set, I really do want it for the JP93 figure but if it does end up being cancelled in the US, I don't think I would lose too much sleep over it. I would be fine if we get that Explorer mold even as a Generations release as Armada Red Alert or some other character.
