Really hoping for Pulsecon Schedule soon. And maybe hoping Transformers, Power Rangers and Star Wars are on day 2. My Office Mates and Boss are encouraging me not to take days off. I mean I am entitled to my Vacation Days. But they are looking for reasons I don't need to take days off. Mostly thinking I am very loyal to my job.

I'm hoping to be able to sign up for pulsecon without having to click on an email link that looks like a series of MD5 hashes.

From my experience, it was on Youtube. For me, it's the Exclusives that I had to sign up for Premium.

I’ll never understand why some people feel the need to take all the fun out it for others with their snarky comments if it’s not fun for them.

As someone who makes snarky comments generally in life (though only occasionally on the boards), I would say it’s just fun to make snarky comments.
I think if you allow some internet rando’s snark to lessen your enjoyment in something, that is something you need to take a look at and address for yourself.

I gotta disagree. Just because a person doesn't want to see a bunch of negativity doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them they need to address.

Not everyone has the same tolerance for snark.

I would say that if it’s to the point where it bothers someone enough that they argue people shouldn’t do it then that is a they problem. If I couldn’t roll my eyes and move on to another post with the amount of nonsense I see from time to time on the internet, I’d probably start thinking Ted Kaczynski had some good points.

They didn't argue that they shouldn't. Just that they don't understand why.

And even if they did, the person wanting to keep things nice doesn't have a problem. We're all Transformers fans here. It's not outrageous to think we wouldn't want fellow fans to poo poo on what we like.

I know I've been on a weird accessory kick lately if anyone's actually been reading my rants, and I'm sorry for the one track mind, but my train of thought got me thinking now there should be a way to buy a figure (third party I suppose, but hastak would be nice) brand new, without any extra stuff. Like, just the toy.

I'm not saying the things shouldn't come with accessories other people will enjoy, I'm saying I want the option to not lose something I'm not gonna use, and subsequently not have to worry about if and when I go to sell the thing. Maybe I just want some extra hands and not extra faces, maybe a seeker without null rays, or a prime cab without the deadly plot coupon.

I get that more stuff makes people feel like they're getting their money's worth, but I've been buying tackle box after tackle box to properly store practically useless trinkets that are largely only compatible with the figure they came with. It's ridiculous.

It's possible to do so without being snarky.

I'm not a fan of Justin Bieber's music.

I think a lot of the "snark" is just someone being sarcastic or "witty" and the tone not being conveyed well through text. There are some genuinely snarky people of course, but I don't think it's as prevalent as it may seem, just jokes not getting told well enough

I can deal with the snark, but what really gets me is the tiresome, redundant and quite frankly regurgitated negativity that seems to be the norm for some.
    Go eat a Snickers.

For figure "rants", if a figure:
    • Needs modded out of the box
    • Has parts fall off when removing from the box
    • Can't transform without parts shifting or popping off
    • Has diecast for no reason besides "heft"
    • Needs an added tool just to move parts
It isn't a good figure. It may be decent after some work, but shouldn't be given a pass and declared awesome because it's new and shiny.

^^ Yup, I’m not going to buy something that’s going to be good after I pry it to pieces, shave eighteen tabs, paint it, and dunk it in nail polish.

Better stay away from Gundam kits, hehe.

Have you considered that perhaps that is what they enjoy about the situation, and you're arguing in favor of taking that away from them? Just food for thought. I'm not sure exactly which type of comments you're talking about so I could be mistaken.

On an on-topic note, I find that I actually have nothing I want to rant about today...

Please, allow me to rephrase. “I’ll never understand why some people feel the need to ‘try to’ take all the fun out of it for others with their snarky comments if it’s not fun for them.”
I never said the fun was lessened for me, but I have seen the effect felt by others and just felt compelled to speak up about it.
I never meant to imply that it is always the snarky one’s intention to lessen the fun of others. That’s my fault, and I beg pardon. But it might be helpful sometimes to be more constructive with criticism than to outright say or bluntly infer what someone else likes is just plain dumb or stupid.
Plus, I don’t think it’s fair to assume that just because someone has a problem with snark means they have a problem themselves. It could mean that person just believes in good manners and proper behavior. As a caveat to that, it could be possible that someone would have a problem with that, but would it hurt to be a bit more sensitive? Depression is a real thing. And who isn’t a little on edge these days?

Thank you @Preach Starscream for helping to clarify and expand a little on my point. It is appreciated.
And can we keep the Unabomber outta the conversation please. Trying to keep it civilized, people.
There are definitely more polite ways of getting one’s opinion across without sounding sassy about it. Granted, this is the internet and granted this is a forum. I’m not an idiot to think it’s going to be pleasant 100% of the time. But given the type of forum that it is, the sense of closeness some of us may feel, and the nature of our hobby, don’t you think we could at least be civil about it? If I can convince at least one of you of this point, I feel I will have accomplished something here.
This is a plausible explanation. But, admittedly, sometimes even the “jokes” can go too far.

Now with all this said, I won’t deny that I enjoy being snarky sometimes. But it helps when you’re actually in on what is obviously the joke or topic of conversation. When you’re actively going out of your way to transpose your opinion onto others as the ‘ultimate last word’ and derailing the conversation, that’s not cool and, yes, can lessen the fun for me. Not the fun of this hobby, but the fun I have interacting with the people on these forums. Just a friendly request that you please keep that in mind. Sorry for the long, “not so official” rant, but I hope I got my point across better and I appreciate your time. Please have fun!
And to get back to topic…….,

Mostly agree with this. But if the worst I have to do is apply some floor polish to some joints, I can live with. Not that it’ll be awesome, but at least better than the weebly-wobbly mess that it was straight outta the box.

I really, really love Beast Wars. Everything about it, from the show to the toys, is just the perfect confluence of all the things I enjoy about Transformers and science fiction and storytelling, and the only negative thing I have to say is that I'm disappointed it took me so long to fully appreciate the series and fully realize my enjoyment for it. But I realize it now, and I'm having more fun collecting and being part of the hobby than I ever have before. That's all, no one said a rant had to be negative.

Eh, different beast. That one you don’t have to take apart and shove in the drying machine to make it do what it should’ve done out of the box.
