Day 6! This guy was a gift from a friend years ago, like "was on the shelves at Toys R Us at the time" years ago. No occasion, just doing something nice for a pal. So I have a lot of affection for it.

Plus, man it holds up. Most Animated toys do, but I'd be happy to buy this thing in stores now. Tons of personality, and I've always liked how the cybertronian alt mode looks like a mechanised animal that could disguise itself as a car if need be. Cool idea.

Okay, I was NOT a fan of the WfC games whatsoever. Disliked the designs for the most part and just didn't find the game play enjoyable.
BUT, a few of the toys were brilliant, like the first Optimus, the Seeker mold, and Cliffjumper.

I love when tires are integrated into the lower legs in bot mode. This is a great example of being indifferent to the source material but love the toy design - it's why my collection is a somewhat hodgepodge mix of cool bots.

I had forgotten about that toy, but I agree, it’s a really cool design. I love the head sculpt, which to me looks like it could be from IDW. (As a side note, I almost always like Cliffjumper head sculpts, except maybe the one from TFP.)

My son has this figure stashed away somewhere, and now I feel compelled to find it!

Just got Kingdom Transmutate today and have actually wasted a lot of time (while at work) trying to figure out a way to make her look different enough from Paleotrex to make her her own thing.

And I was not disappointed. But goddamn that face is nightmare fuel!

Well that's a win-win for you, then! My brain latches onto songs and will replay them for days on end, and that soundtrack is one that I don't want to be reminded of.

Finally found a close to being properly sized Grapple...
    DSC05710.JPG

    DSC05712.JPG

First, just to say that I got this guy so to have a Grapple in my collection. I had considered the WFC version as it does look great, but it was just too small for me, I just couldn't get pass it.

So finding this guy last week was a great find and a proper alternative.

I will admit that he's on the other side of the pendulum and is just a tad big (maybe 10%?), but only by a bit as it's much closer to a proper scale with the rest of the figures, while WFC version is closer to 25-30% too small and it just sticks out too much for me.

Anyways, this guy is a pretty decent figure, has ankle tilt that's a nice touch.

He does have a few weird flaws though, no actual support for the crane that's on that small flip piece on his arm and just floats there in the alt mode, and the really bad choice to make the arm connectors very short/small mushroom push-on that easily pop off. And lastly, the "what the hell" thing about him was his hands that aren't 5mm accessories compatible (and no weapon came with him either). He's already "customized" by getting a bit of filing down to create gaps in the hands so to hold 5mm items now (and repainted to black) and been given a Nonnef extra gun that had to be snipped to fit as well as possible.

But aside these flaws, he's a fairly decent figure that I'm enjoying and a great addition to my "family".
