They are both owned by Keith and have a lot of crossover, such as the aforementioned stand and Keith's signature super-poseable fingers.

Apparantly KFC and XTB started off with a different focus, but they both do G1 toon style MP now, which such a similar style, so at this point the only significant difference is that KFC figures come in cooler, less standardized boxes.

Ditka also came with the same stand and I think I've got at least one other figure who came with the same stand.

So the answer is that both XTB and KFC have been using this stand for years and years, although no one around seems to know why there are the two posts. It would probably take some digging into the oldest releases to find the first figure this stand came with and see if there was a purpose for the two posts. Or if there had been a planned figure that would have utilized them, but the figure was never issued. Seems unlikely that the stands were repurposed from another toy line since KFC does have their logo on the mold and when XTB started to include the stands they updated the moulds for the alternate logo. Keith sure does seem to like them as they frequently show up in his releases and he's gone to the trouble of customizing them with his logo and making adaptors for different figures to use them. But he's never removed the two posts so he must have a use for them.

Sorry to butt in on this, but where was the condescension? I think Squishy was simply trying to give you a quick (and possible) explanation. Perhaps, it's best to be 'quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.'

Can someone please give me an opinion on trade value of the OG color variant in mint condition for a repaint in like condition? I think I want to trade in for the newer one to match my FTs, but only because it seems there's never going to be any other alternative, FT, Takara, or otherwise for this character. Even in this crop of NewAge, MS et al Season 3 legends there's no good selection. Why doesn't Scourge get any love?

Well I did say "if I'm reading your intent correctly," which it seems I wasn't. It just seemed an extremely generic & vague non-answer that, frankly, didn't need to be said in the first place - that amount of knowledge was either obvious or implied in my original question & therefore rather pointless. I considered it condescending because it fell just short of outright saying "Duuuhhh haven't you considered these possibilities already?"
However, it now seems that any condescension, if there ever was any implied in the first place, was completely warranted, since I seem to be the only guy around who didn't know KFC & XTB are so closely related. In fact, SquishyOH should go back, edit his post and make it unmistakably condescending. I knew the thing about the poseable hands, but I never much cared for anything like Kingzilla or Ditka enough to pay any close attention to KFC. I'm still on year 5 (or whatever it is now) of waiting for FansToys Berserk as my MP Blitzwing.
But it was Squishy's second post that served to expose my critical error (and was far more informative than the first post, thanks for that): I assumed that stand was exclusive to XTB, so based my thinking around Andras/Eligos only.

No harm done. I was finishing up a second long double shift and clearly don't have the history to go back a decade in Keith's release history to tell the definitive story of why their universal stand looks so odd.
Now that you've got me curious, I can't even seem to find any convention photos from XTB/KFC to see if he simply mounts those little white product tags on the posts during trade shows. @BumbleDouche does ask an interesting question that will require more knowledge than I possess.

Man, I wish my shifts were only a second long. 2 seconds for a double shift? I can do that. :D

Does anyone know if this toon version can come cheaper than $140 with shipping to Japan?

I may have missed this while skimming the thread, but do later versions of Andras fix the foot issue?
Or is there a viable fix for it?

I have the original release and the complete nonsense in the foot area basically means he can't be transformed back into Boat-mode.

I'm actually reevaluating a large portion of my collection and XTB Andras and Elegios may be on the chopping block.

Oh yes they did. XTB even posted a short clip on their FB page.

As for the ver.1 there's a certain spot or angle in which you need to transform the feet. Hard for me to explain but you can look for it on BSF video review of it.

Trying to decide which version of this guy to get. is more cartoon accurate. To me, the original matches the colors from the movie better. What are everyone else's thoughts?

I have the reissue, despite some minor paint chipping on the feets, I'm totally happy with him. Never had problems with transformation, alt to bot or bot to alt. I don't like the lack of posability but this is an issue that regard the original too. I have him with FT Galvatron (T) and FT Quietus (T) and they looks great togheter.

The original is definitely more accurate. Not entirely sure what XTB was thinking with the colours on the reissue.

What has the colour change got to do with money? They could have reissued it with the same colour scheme and the improvements to your feet and people would have bought it, given that it’s the only option.

Really?!?! New color = people who already own the mold buying again because toon accurate. Plus all those who are looking to pick it up that missed the previous releases.

Agree or not, that’s “my opinion”.
