Galvatron and Soundwave. We only see them together one time but Soundwave, who is a single dad to many Cassetticon children, clearly needs some time away from his kids also he got himself exploded and came back as New Soundwave. Galvatron should try to reach to him and remind him of the good times they share together and maybe rekindle that passion.

 

I pretty much like everything here except...

1. I would replace Jazz with Prowl.

2. I would either replace Bumblebee with Hot Rod or have them be brothers with Hot Rod being the older rebellious one who eventually follow in his father's footsteps.

3. I would reverse this, since Optimus would hunt down Megatron across space and eventually landing on Earth and Elita-1 would rebuild Cybertron and protected it from further Decepticon attacks.

4. I feel like a scene like that could only happen if there wasn't a war and the Autobots were just cops and the Decepticons were a crime syndicate.

 

okay well like i don't mean that scene SPECIFICALLY or word for word, but a scene where two enemies just talk like people and learn about each other in a slower and more introspective moment. i think that's still doable even when they're both military commanders even within the war setting, and i'd like to see prime and megatron get more dialogue and characterization between them. as for context i'll let writers figure that out - maybe it's a peace talk where they've both agreed to come unarmed without backup, maybe Optimus is abort the Nemesis and Megatron made him dinner, or maybe even it's just a phone call or something

 

In terms of the relationships between Starscream and Megatron...

Some years ago I found a very interesting comment in the internet about it (it was in a review about different G1 episodes, in this case "Enter the Nightbird"). In there the author expressed how he sees their relationship and to be honest, that's how I see their relationship too resp. that's how I would love to see it handled.

~I should say a word here on Starscream and Megatron's relationship. It's a topic that has been fraught with much speculation. The ever-fascinating scenario shows Starscream on the one hand acting out and raging against Megatron and claiming to despise him and to want him dead - and on the other hand craving his attention and approval, and resenting anyone whom Megatron particularly values. Nightbird caught the brunt of it more than anyone else. Starscream clearly took it as a personal offense that Megatron became so enamoured of this one special female. While I hold neither to the theory that Starscream and Megatron had a past sexual relationship, nor to the theory that they're related in a family sense (father/son or brothers), I do see a symbolic "father/child" relationship in them, or to put it more precisely, idol/admirer or mentor/protege at some point in the past. Screamers and Megs might very well have had an "idol/admirer" or "mentor/protege" dynamic by the past. Starscream's attempts at usurping Megatron could be him trying to emancipate himself from the bot who made him who he is today, but he still can't help but seek Megatron's acknowledgement - and not even his approval. Starscream would gladly take all the insults and abuse Megatron can throw at him, because then he would feel acknowledged as a potential threat to his leadership. Being ignored would be the worst possible thing to happen to Starscream, since it would mean he's too harmless and insignificant for Megatron to worry over and take the time to deride.

 

I'd like to see the idea from the tech specs explored where Bumblebee looks up to Prowl. If for no other reason, that given Bumblebee's high profile in the franchise, Prowl would get more attention too.

Backstreet is related to Tracks. We might get him repainted from him then.

I'd like to see more of the House of Magnus so we might get a Delta Magnus figure.

I'd like to see an exploration of the Matrix Templars from the Universe comic.
Potential Primes are identified and trained. I suppose Optimus taking Hot Rod under his wing in Regeneration is an echo of this.

Reboots suck. People change all the time. You can have character development by putting the characters in different situations. Prime Bee father son. New conflict bee gets pissed at Optimus and now besties with windblade. It's called moving a story productively and profitably forward. WFC started as a prequel and went to shit.

I would change the relationship between Optimus and Rodimus. Roddy is Proactive Optimus is status que. To great Primes with 2 different leadership styles. Put them in the same story and create plot. Galvatron can feed the fire and we get a real story.
Yes Galvatron is Megatron get past that. Have Megatron cloned from a sound wave data track. Then have him and Optimus come to terms. Only megs to sacrifice himself to save Optimus from Galvatron... Himself.... Conflictive isn't it...

It's been a long time since I read the very first IDW Transformers comics and I think I remember that it was actually like that in one of the miniseries (Megatron Origin?). But I can't remember what happened after that. How and when (if at all) Starscream's confidence and admiration for Megatron was shaken.

Maybe, but personaly I don't think so...Didn't he suffer a lot from Megatron himself? Didn't he even admit (in a moment of deepest despair resp. fear) that Megatron is his biggest nightmare (or something like that)?

 

Optimus should be more like a stern father figure beating the shit out of bee.

Lmao probably one of the most incompetent autobot in the whole franchise. Getting caught in the first movie, letting Ironhide die in the third... His failures won't end.

If the autobots where organized like a real military his commander would already beat the shit of him for the reasons i just mentioned. If Optimus didn't, Jazz probably would.

The relationship, between Shockwave and Megatron would be a ticking time bomb, because of Shockwave being a servant of sexuality. A servant of sexuality is a scientist type who has a licence to be a doofus, because of the odds that they're up against.

 

Personally, I'd abolish sexuality out of Transformers altogether. They're machines. "Love" would amount to the bond between best friends in human terms, nothing more.

Reinvention of Optimus and Megatron's relationship: instead of being friends before the start of the war, they don't meet each other until near the end of the war.

Now, that's not to say that Optimus and Megatron don't have a relationship beforehand; naturally, as the respective leaders of two opposing factions, they have a rivalry with each other, but it's largely been built in absentia. Optimus and Megatron are two individuals who come from wildly different backgrounds--in broad strokes, Optimus comes from a civilian background while Megatron comes from a more military one. Going in a bit more depth, Optimus was an athlete who retired from public life to become a doctor, and Megatron was a soldier from an aristocratic lineage who rose up the ranks to become a high-ranking general. Their unique backgrounds and experiences inform their conflicting worldviews.

For centuries, Optimus and Megatron have plotted against each other and faced off against each other's underlings, but they've never met face to face. Optimus views Megatron as the greatest threat to the universe, and he grows more and more determined to stop him as he learns more and more about how ruthless and tyrannical Megatron truly is. Meanwhile, Megatron views Optimus as the greatest threat to his plans, the one Autobot who can stand against him as an equal. With time, he grows more and more obsessive, but deep down, Megatron knows that, once he destroys Optimus Prime, there will be nobody else to stand up to him--it'll just be him, alone in a universe that must be bent to his will.

When the Autobot Resistance is tracked to a primitive little planet called Earth, Megatron opts to travel there with a squadron himself, intending to crush Optimus Prime once and for all. Suffice to say, their first meeting on Earth will be quite climatic...

 

Just gonna post this from an older thread on what I'd like to see done with Cliffjumper in the future:

I'd like it if he had his GDO design & was Bumblebee's older brother.
Cliffjumper would be the typical sibling; teasing but with a good attitude & always trying to act as a mentor to his little sister Bee (yes, I'd make Bumblebee female, I think it'd be cute). She'd be jealous/inspired by how great he is while Cliff has misgivings about being a good influence on her, doing whatever he can to hide his flaws in front of her & look reliable. He is Big Bro Cliff after all & it's a role that he wants to play well. Little Bee would eventually gain confidence in herself, accomplish great things & even gain a new Alt Mode, going from her adorable little volkswagon beetle to an awesome muscle car, just like him. And while he's very much proud of her, Cliff then starts to wonder what his purpose in life would be if Bee gets so strong & independent that she doesn't need his guidance anymore.

I think you can tell a really nice, wholesome story with these two. Yes, once again Cliffjumper relies entirely on Bumblebee but I'd like to play with that idea in this story too. Instead of being another version of everyone's "favorite" little yellow car it'd be the other way around this time. And I feel you can do some great things with this.

I wanna think of others too, so I'll definitely be back here. Just gotta come up with some other ideas.

My reinvention would start with Fulcrum of IDW. Specifically with his background. His original name would be... Not Fulcrum, but Pivot. Which means the same thing. Why this change? I'm glad you asked. Pivot was the name of one of the dead lovers Chromedome forced himself to forget about.

It fits so well. Fulcrum was presumed dead for MOST of the war. A tragic tale of starcrossed lovers across faction and enemy lines is the kind of juice I desire to quench my thirst for spicy forbidden lover DRAMA. And the ultimate angst and tragedy? Chromedome's secret lover is presumed dead and there's no way for Chromedome to mourn the loss save to confide in his dear friend Brainstorm before quietly offering a vial of his innermost in memory and erasing all memory of poor Pivot so he didn't have to feel the hurt anymore.

FAST FORWARD!

To the end of the Lost Light. It's a new universe. An endless adventure. The Scavengers have joined the crew and Fulcrum can reunite with his long lost lover... only to be privately informed by Brainstorm that Chromedome no longer remembers him. The angst, the longing, lingering looks. The desire for something that he believes can no longer be HIS. And maybe... Something in Chromedome starts to recognize him, perhaps not his mind, but a pang in his spark whenever he sees the 'stranger'. He knows those amber optics, that chin seems unforgettable...

Through pain... and hardship... and maybe a lot of yelling and an accusation of two timing... they eventually get as good as a happily ever after that they can get.
