it'd be pretty cool but I just don't see them being interested in doing something like that

Perhaps g1 was the wrong way to put it. Hell, the Highmoon game world is by faaaarrr my favorite interpretation of the Transformers mythos, I wouldn't call it g1 but it's g1-inspired. What I meant was having characters with consistent design cues and personalities across different interpretations. Even a number of characters from the shows you reference do that. It's like how Optimus Prime is always a red and blue truck, who's always the heroic leader, or Starscream is always a scheming, underhanded Decepticon that turns into a mostly grey jet. The same treatment should be applied to most characters. I'm open to new twists to existing characters, hell I love TFPrime Wheeljack but nothing beats classic mad scientist Wheeljack. There's a reason why evergreen is a thing. One of my many issues with the bay films is that outside of a handful of Autobots, most of the "characters" are nameslaps on generic silver piles of metal with little distinguishing features or personalities. Say what you will about Cyberverse but I think it was a largely successful reimagining of the Transformers story that blended old with new and had numerous homages to different parts of Transformers history while also introducing new characters and putting new twists on classic characters like Grimlock, I actually really like what they did with him in the show.

Oh no totally agree, I think there's a million and one things preventing something like that from ever happening for as long as both those things exist, but it would be neat to see. At the very least I'd love to see their general approach to filmmaking applied to Transformers - got a passion project? Here's everything you need. We've got good industry connections so it'll be a dope ass cast. Just do what you want.

God, if only man, shit would be awesome.

If Transformers somehow finds a way to go even more G1 then there's a good chance I'm leaving the franchise behind. By that point, it'll be clear that they aren't interested in producing anything from my lifetime that I grew up with, instead of endless rehashes of the same thing from 40 years ago. You can only get the message "we don't care what you like" before you start saying "then kiss my money goodbye".

That said, with all the rumours of Legacy's content it's a step in the right direction, a little more UT, Prime and RID to join Beast Wars.

Ehh, the core story could remain the same, but with difference in story telling and "sub-stories", like say:

    A small scale BB movie

A movie that gives you "Creepy" feeling because you're dealing with monster-themed bot etc, things like that.

I honestly think the Transformers and MLP crossovers worked because both are popular franchises and Transformers specifically lends itself well too crossovers, just like Batman did with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossovers.

You asked what would make g1ers happy I gave the answer I’d like. Simple as that. I’d like a series akin to what they’ve tried doing for the g1 derivatives with a little more care. The derivatives they’ve made and will make could also use more attention and focus on hasbro’s part.

No, what I meant was with all this G1 inspired stuff oversaturated, it's still not enough for y'all.

It’s not over saturated. It’s under saturated.

If Disney acquires the film rights to Transformers, I'd be a bit disappointed, but it wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Honestly, they'd probably put together a perfectly fun and entertaining series of movies. The downside would be that they probably wouldn't take many risks, and wouldn't give the directors complete creative freedom. And I'm also not crazy about the idea of the Transformers crossing over with Marvel at all. I kind of hope the film rights go to Universal (is Paramount doesn't continue to hold them), but Disney wouldn't be the end of the world.

Like the unpopular characters that they are saving for future exclusivity or never bothering to release. Again, G1 is all we get, it is the last thing you could possibly say is under saturated.

I mean, sure, but they're kind of almost there? Like, I think they could finish up those updates of all but the most obscure in a couple years tops if they keep up the current level of G1, and then it'd be time to move on to both focusing Generations onto other parts of the franchise in a more substantial way and being more original with the TV shows etc.

. I’d say it’s the most under saturated. In the middle of g2 they started adding articulation to the toys. A good chunk has not yet been updated. Everything after that point has for the most part good articulation. Some people are asking for rid or cybertron toys to get a second update. The media aspect g1 has not had a real go at updating g1 besides comics. I just would like to see them give the same love to g1 they give other iterations. I’d like hasbro to focus resources more on other iterations when they do those.

You just refuse to look at the past decade of nothing but G1 remakes don’t you? That or you refuse to recognize anything as G1 simply to be right in the argument.
