Chest is pretty okay. She still has that “little green man” alien face and ginormous backpack though.

I’ll wait forever on @MC Rap Throne ’s. If he decides it isn’t worth doing someday; then I’ll keep the official figure in perpetual alt mode.

...Hasbro? This is 100 percent on Takara/Tomy. Unless you think Hasbro employees somehow micromanage every design aspect of Takara's exclusive toys. Frankly, if that was the case, MP-51 probably WOULDN'T have had such a wretched chest, given that (for all of its other problems) Earthrise Arcee is far more accurate in that department.

i gave up waiting. Too much time with no updates from MC Rap Throne. I hope everything is okay with him but I made my own Arcee chest.

 

That’s a great chest fix and an improved face is also nice but it still can’t do anything about the backpack. And it’s one of the worst backpacks we’ve seen in a long time. It actually managed to be uglier and more intrusive than the new Prime or Bumblebee backpacks.
Say what you will about FansToys Rouge, the sculpt and proportions are a little off in places and styling is odd, but it’s a stone-cold
Miracle to pack that Alt mode into those shoulder pauldrons.

 

I really don't like how Rouge looks (colour, face, proportions, lines, etc). Not hating on FansToys - I have a lot of their stuff - but it doesn't look like the character to me.

That said, I agree absolutely, FT did a great job with the engineering. They got both modes, without a backpack (TT), loads of waffle plating (MMC), partforming (WJ) or just skipping half of the alt mode (TW).

It's all subjective but I can live with the backpack. Unicron9 has a fairly simple mod to remove most of it.

 

That looks so much better. Strange that people defend the original look, but hey aesthetics are subjective.

Not that it would do me any good as I don't have MP-51, and won't buy the figure unless there is a 1:1 KO copy (or better) of it produced, but has anyone considered doing a group buy on this to save on shipping to the US? I know there were several folks who came forward to arrange a group bulk order for the Studio Cell wing tips (standard and enlarged) through Hafiz Zul several months ago.

 

If she can still transform with the new chest, I'm boggled that Takara didn't make it look like this in the first place. Collar/neck area looks so much better now.

Now we just need someone to fix the backpack (ie. re-design the whole figure  ).

I'm strongly of the opinion that was supposed to be Nightbird first and someone shoehorned an Arcee mold out of it and then released Nighbird later. The Nightbird has that Bushido style head with the long from that requires the chest to be lower to make it work. On her, it looks fine. On Arcee because of her head being normal, it just looks out of whack.

 

No matter what someone else says, I don't care, I strongly agree with you. Takara used very similar mold for Arcee, only a small difference in detail and this way received lower production costs. At least i would like to consider that the reason why the chest of the Arcee looks so bad. And pure laziness. They went from where the fence was to the lowest.

 

OK, so check this out, not everybody wants to sit through a dopey guitar riff intro followed by somebody taking in circles with their gigantic meat hooks obscuring what we're supposed to be looking at, which is what videos posted to sites like this usually are. As fun as it is to snark on people who didn't want forced into suffering through a video, it would not and did not kill anybody to post the couple of still frames people were actually interested in either.
