While I'll blame Johnson for the last jedi I don't for the rise of Skywalker, jj can't get mad when he let's someone else direct something and they end up doing there own thing

Seems you forgot about Mulan and Cruella. Wouldn't blame you tho.

What trademark is there to keep from fairytales and old literature? If anything, Disney screws up the copyright deal so they keep saving Mickey Mouse from the public domain.

No, but 2 or more could.

    sure...

Yes, I think that's the strength of MCU. Well-placed casting. People got charmed by the actor's portrayal of the character and started following. (I'm guilty of that, too :p ) Moreover, with actual actors you can run a complete promotion campaign with interviews, games or BTS videos.

Meanwhile, Transformers always got the short end of the stick. There was no special treatment for the characters during the production. The voice actors of TF were usually treated as secondary with little to no spotlight.

Personally, I think that Transformers should go MLP route and start doing an animated universe with TV series and movies.

I think that without a direct engagement from actors portraying those characters it will all be moot. Usually, before a movie you have actors talking about their characters. It's even the case for animated movies, but TF characters usually get as much spotlight as Godzilla or King Kong. I think that some emphasis on their roles in the movie promotion material would be great.

This could work. At least it would help establish the characters in and out of the movie. Having a face to put behind the character would improve people's perception of these characters.

This works with animated films these days, as most theatrical animated features use name talent anyway.

Paramount had John Goodman as Hound. And he was great. And they cast Ian Armitage as Chase so they could have the star of Young Sheldon on the talk show circuit for the Paw Patrol movie.

Watching "What If..." they could do that same kind of anthology approach for TFs.

Yes 01 version, but Saban owned it and disney bought out saban right after that. They still own the broadcast rights but can't do jack in the end

Of course crossovers with TF and G.I. Joe would easy, but I don't know if something like Jem & Holograms meets MLP could work.

If Marvel and Hasbro work together on movies, I don't think we would get just G1, we would like get a lot of G1 but I think we would also get things from like Beast Wars, RID 2001, the Unicron Trilogy, Animated, Prime, Rescue Bots, Cyberverse, and etc.

I honestly feel that Universal would be the most likely to get the movie rights for Transformers before Disney does. TF already has a presence at the Universal Studio parks and a lot of the Collaborative figures have been of Universal properties (BTTF, Jurassic Park, the Universal Monsters), so its clear that Hasbro has a working relationship with Universal, kind of like how Lucasfilm had a relationship with Disney via Star Tours and the Indiana Jones ride long before they were sold to Disney. Of course, I don't know how well Universal has been doing in terms of making money since I don't really follow that kind of stuff (not a huge moviegoer). I guess we'll just have to wait and see on how things turn out.

If MLP and Transformers can work then MLP and Jem would be no problem.
Marvel has a presence at Universal but Disney got the movie rights.

I wasn't aware of that (I've never actually been to a Universal Studios park). Although, I believe Universal still has the film rights for Hulk (and maybe others?). I know Hulk appears in the MCU but he hasn't had his own titled film since The Incredible Hulk (which was produced by Universal), so he's only able to appear in ensemble films like Avengers or as a supporting role like Thor: Ragnarok. So maybe that's why Universal gets to still use Marvel characters at their parks and stuff.

I dunno. Licenses are confusing. :p

Universal only has the Hulk the same way Paramount has the Transformers. Universal had Marvel rides before the MCU was at Disney.

@MacFormer97 would this mean that the animated prequel will get canceled? Or will it go to paramount +?

With that in mind, I'd like to see an official Movie Bumblebee toy redecoed as Thunderhawk. Both being Camaros and all.

They'd have to establish a singular continuity first.

Maybe have Jem with Blaster & Soundwave.

Plus maybe more of Joe, Rom & Micronauts.

Plus, Universal distributed the Battleship and Jem films. Not that those movies are any good, but still.

And since they currently own DreamWorks, I kinda fear they'll give any of the Hasbro IP the She-Ra Netflix treatment, especially Jem & Visionaries.

They kinda did back in the 80s comics.

I know, I've read the 80s comics. But I wasn't just talking comics, I was thinking movies.

Oh, that's right! I forgot Disney owns Saban now! Are there any issues with Hasbro making toys for RiD though? Maybe the next Haslab crowdfund will be RiD Optimus Prime + Ultra Magnus for the 20th anniversary.
