i really dont know why most of yall are acting as if hasbro isnt as bad if not worse as disney , like all these media corporations are so similar in how much they dont give a fuck about quality and how much money they can suck up that if the film rights to transformers was to go to disney, most of the general audience wouldnt bat an eye. Yes yes disney bad but fucking hell i cant bring myself to actually give a shit about this because we know hasbro wouldnt sell the entire fucking brand to disney unless they want to commit financial suicide. If Michael bay made a film under Disney it would probably be bad and critically panned so it doesn’t really matter what studio does it.

they were always silly kids movies about space wizards, a lot of fun but that's it, and people want to pretend it's something more or that it's ABOUT something or has some GREAT meaning when most of the themes and lessons are simple shit like "cherish your friends" and "stand up to evil". like, no. star wars is silly, and there's nothing wrong with liking it, but the second you try to "justify" your enjoyment (which needs no justification tbh you can just enjoy things because you enjoy them) by pretending it's deeper than it is you just look foolish.

oh also star wars fans are completely insane and entitled and the blueprint for everything wrong with fandom and if i had a time machine i'd stop those movies from ever being made

I still think if Marvel makes a deal with Hasbro for the movies, they would be great movies.

I disagree with the last bit, but in the end I could not give less of a shit about what some old white guy has to say about superhero stuff, in the end what matters the most is our own opinions as human beings and not basing our opinions off what other people think.

 

Yeah, unfortunately I get the feeling that Lorenzo thinks he's the Kevin Fiege of Paramount given all his dumb PR statements about his take on these franchises.

Yup, JJ's been often lambasted about his 'mystery box' style filming, but it was Star Wars where it bit everybody in the ass because he didn't handle TLJ.

That was Rian Johnson, who made it no secret he pretty much had the opposite stance about film making and took every single plot point JJ introduced and ran it into the ground, giving zero fucks about there needing to be plot threads for a following film.

 

I think jj is responsible to a fair degree of the turnout of the trilogy but Disney definitely has more. I just gave one as an example but I could definitely give a list of Disney movies from the last few years that I think are terrible. My point is that Disney just wouldn't care much about how it turned out and since transformers is no where near as profitable as star wars or marvel so I don't Disney to put in much effort into it.

 

They'd definitely put their best foot forward. And you'd have a combination of film and television plus merchandising power.

 

Abrams and Kennedy could have pushed back. They didn't, so I don't blame Johnson.

Especially since he actually did something interesting and good, instead of trying to make Star Wars: Endgame.

 

What does this mean for the animated cybertron prequel? I really hope this doesn’t mean that the animated film would be cancelled.
