Huh. Are they different from the four issue marvel comics compendium, or just black and white rotoscope?

edit: Never mind, here he is: they just rotoscoped the drawings, in a less-good way, without the shading. I guess they added the rear view which is added value I suppose.

No, the black and white drawings actually came first! The images in the Ark books are the original character model sheets used by the production staff of the cartoon show.

Marvel took those images, then added the colours and shading, for those Transformers Universe profiles.

The Marvel versions don’t always use the correct colours, and they didn’t print images for every character.

The Ark books, despite being in black and white, are a far better resource for character references, IMHO.

 

A complete set of these character designs is also included in the Generations book rekeased in Japan. They’re printed at a smaller scale than in the ark books though.

 

So I went in on these, bought bonecrusher n scavenger on show z today. Hope these are good

The quality of New Age figures is increasingly surprising, whether in materials, paint finishes, transformations or appearance.
Very happy, way above Magic Square...

 

This may come off as weird but... that's a lovely background   Not franchise-specific so it can be used for toys other than Transformers. What material is it and where'd you get it?

I'm planning to get the volume 1 only, does it have full characters from all seasons and movie?

 

Oh yeah, book 1 is all the designs from the American series, it has the movie and the mini season 4 up to the headmasters, targetmaster and Sixshot, then some alternate g1 designs.

 

Ah, good old out-of-print IDW paper products going for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Bleh. Would be nice, but not at that price level.

 

This come with my light cube. It comes with 4 or 5 different backgrounds ;-)

 

FYI for those who buy from the North American stores and don't have any of these guys yet, Toy Dojo is selling all 4 sets as a $350 bundle.

 

Can someone recommend a dry rub or water slide anime logo decal for this Devastator’s breastplate? I saw this one on NA weibo and it looks perfect

This probably isn’t super helpful, but whenever I pre-order from Terry, he will put in a sheet of Decals that are *perfect*. Maybe shoot him a message and ask about buying some outright?

 

Still no shipping notice from Showz for my last two sets sadly. Really hoping for next week!
