Then again, I guess I could pick it up for less than what my wife paid for MP-8X as a gift, or what I paid for an original MP-9, both long after general availability! Filling in gaps sucks! Might have to bite the bullet and pony up one day. Don't even know what they go for, maybe don't want to .
I have both and I completely agree that the plus version looks better (to me anyway) but I still really love the original release colour and I think it actually matches the toon esthetic better. I think the original looks better with MP-36 and 52. But next to MP Soundwave or on it's own 29+ looks great. I guess what I'm saying is that MP-29 still looks great so you don't NEED to spend the money. But I totally get wanting to get 29+ anyway. I told myself I would not buy the SS Sweep because it's almost identical to Scourge and I don't need it. But then I went ahead and ordered it anyway because I love the SS86 line and I couldn't skip one release. My toy nerdiness would not allow it!
You definitely don't want to know... Maybe to coincide with Soundwave v2 TT will pull a first and reissue a TTMall exclusive, and we'll get MP-29+ again. The only other exclusive that I think has even been reissued was MP-8X, and that was by Hasbro Asia only. Could also happen.
I sure hope that's the case. The last time I checked, the only place that had a sealed copy was RK, for $399. Sold out now. My main problem with 29 was the stickers. I hated that. Do not give us the option TT, make up your mind and tampo the bastard. I swear if they re-issue 29 (no +) and they simply change that (NO STICKERS) I'll just call it a day and get it.
The stickers were the only reason I didn’t want the first one. At the end of the day, I decided tampos were not worth the extra $250. Also, I like both colors, so that wasn’t an issue for me. I just keep mine sticker-less, which is not ideal, but I’ll survive…..probably
Keep an ebay search saved and check it religiously. There's hope. I legitimately checked almost every day for a year, sometimes twice a day. Took a LONG time but I finally managed to snag a sealed one for retail price, and I am SO GLAD that I did because it genuinely does pop on my shelf way more than the original release. I learned my lesson moving forward though and decided to preorder these exclusive seeker releases. I don't plan on buying them but I check in on the + versions of the MP cars from time to time and am SHOCKED at how much they go for (and also surprised that the KO companies haven't hopped on them like they did all the earlier versions). I talked trash about the toon aesthetic and fully painted figures for a long time, but after giving them a chance I am much more impressed with their shelf presence and the fluidity with which they can be posed.

His example is how 29+ is impossible to find now because people thought it wouldn’t sell and they could get a heavy discount. no one is saying that silly Chinese seller is bad. He gets dirt cheap shipping due to government national subsidies, and that is hurting other businesses around the world, but we get to save a few bucks with shipping yea?

I thought that 17,000 is way too expensive because regular MP-29 is going for like 9,000 yen right now. I viewed it as raising the price too high for tampos and a repaint
Okay, not trying to start yet another scale argument. This time. But I ran across this image and I'm trying to place where it comes from. In this case Skywarp is ridiculously undersized compared to Soundwave. Almost looks like Skywarp is meant to be a minibot in this shot. Either that or Soundwave is way too tall.
Yeah, looks like it’s just a layering issue, if Soundwave was over Skywarp it’d be ok with the perspective.
Yeah, definitely just an animation error, but not one of the usual ones I see trotted out every time members want to argue Seeker heights. My guess would be Season 2, but I couldn't place the episode. It must be just a second on-screen. I re-watched earlier this year, and maybe the Seaspray episode? [Edit: Nope, not Sea Change. That's got Megatron and Soundwave, but Astrotrain and Dirge helping out). Anyhow, Skywarp is coming soon and will be just as glorious as his mold-mates. The TT numbering may not make any sense, but the figures should be top notch.
No one is arguing seeker heights. Someone a few posts back said they have their own head cannon about there being height differences. No one is arguing. And no one else here (lol I assume) thinks there’s a problem with the MP scale. Back on topic. Getting closer!
