The new core class is quite nifty. It is an upgrade on the previous Legends class and seems like a response to the legends scale 3rd party scene.

It clearly has a lot of potential, and effectively all of G1 could get a do over in this scale for Titan class playset interaction.

But I thought it be useful to have a speculation thread of the types of toy and characters we would like to see.

I personally would like to see all the G1 Micromasters get redone in this scale:

 

Bay Mohawk, Animated Dirt Boss, maybe a non-transforming figure of S3 Sari. Though in a dream world where we had a dedicated Studio Series line for Animated, S3 Sari would probably come with a release of Bumblebee at some point.

 

All of the cassettes with their accessories could get done right in core class.

 

Can you imagine the fury if the fandom got told "here's a $12 Laserbeak but he comes with two little chrome things also you might have to buy a new Soundwave"

 

Armada Mini-Con Swindle to go with the Voyager Starscream next year is my biggest hope for Core Class.

Of course I’d prefer the Armada remakes to come with the Mini-Cons but they just don’t fit into the budget these days, and there would be too much uproar about a leader class version with Swindle and a Starsaber purely because of the size = equals price thing.

If I had to pick others, I’d want the Cassette combiners. I know we got Slamdance in Siege but I’d rather have a more accurate version along with an official Squawktalk and Beastbox. The Dr Wu one looks neat though.

 

That would take roughly 8-10 years given current release structure and over $1000 just for the US releases.

Comparing between the Hasbro cassettes and the Dr Wu Squawkbox (even the other vehicle ones- drone/mars rover), and it's not a contest, the Dr. Wu are easily superior in design and quality, with their only flaw is the missing foldout 5mm pegs. The odds are so near impossible that Hasbro will ever care to do these, that you should get them before they're no longer easily available.

 

I don’t care enough to chase them down, I’m just saying I think Core Class would be a good place to do these versions of the cassettes officially for those that really care about that.

 

I hope they won't try to sell us a new Soundwave. The Netflix version is great. I don't ever need another chug Soundwave.
But all of his cassettes except for Ratbat and Laserbeak perhaps could do with a redo. Even better if those come with their weapons.

 

More Beast Wars Basics in the new core class would be cool.

I know it’s not quite what you want, but have you considered the Magic Square cassettes? They look really good in a CHUG display.

 

Stampy and Optimus Minor please. I know they're obscure characters, but they're a bunny and a monkey at cheap, kid-accessible price points, who cares.

I would like Core to branch off into something bigger, much like Cyberverse in the early 2010’s. I feel like that subgroup of figures went under appreciated: cheap alternatives to more expensive figures that were for the most part really well made. I have hope for Core but Hasbro seems to utilize this size class, then blow it off, then come back to it, but I hope it sticks for a while.

 

SS86 Wheelie so we don't have to pay ridiculous prices for the TR/Legends version.

 

It's not so much just that I would like core class cassettes though. It seems they are rumored to come about in Legacy.
Honestly, I'll live if they don't happen, but I won't mind paying 12usd for them if they do and they look great.
