Everyone had different tastes. It's a good thing. Keeps the boat afloat when the water gets choppy.
We already have the Bay verse so sure going forward they will not be revised.

Wow, well no one can say they\'re surprised.  It\'s amazing bad ROTF, AOE and TLK were.  It\'s sad how bad these Transformers movies were and they still kept following the same road to make them.  These movies had so much potential.  The 07 TF movie is alright and it made me a TF fan, but I many people would\'ve become fans if it was directed by someone else other than Bay...I\'ve actually sold off most of my TF collection due to how bad and embarrassing these movies got.

I sold my old movie toys Too... Because the Toys suck comparing to the new studio series. I'll Wait to sell those when the 07 kids hit 40-50.

Honestly, I don't think that would break my heart at all.

More and more I'm thinking ROTB is basically Paramount's and Lorenzo's last grasp at box office glory for the franchise, and a desperate one at that - the fact that they're finally shoving both G1 AND Beast Wars into the mix NOW after five movies' worth of staying as far away from both as possible is pretty telling - and I've yet to see one thing, either about this movie or the moviegoing environment that it's going to be released in, that could convince me that the attempt will actually work. I also tend to think that's at least part of the reason Paramount never even brought the movie up at Cinemacon - I don't think the studio has that much faith in the franchise anymore.

Disney doesn't need to be getting their hands on it, though. They're an absolute mess right now.

I would not get my hopes up on ROTB being a blockbuster hit. It's Fan service. I am grateful they care for the fans so much they will do this. Don't expect the rest of the world to be as excited.

    Good.

I hate Paramount. I think almost any other studio would do a better job with the Hasbro properties.

Imo, the Bay movies were awful (versus the latest spin off, Bumblebee), and the G.I.Joe movies all but killed the brand. :(

I realize that a modicum of success means u stick to partnership for decades, but I really feel that Hasbro hurt its business by not experimenting with better directors (i.e.Travis Knight, who they ONLY considered under budget cuts and sucky Bay movie returns!).

Lol why do people keep saying the same, "And please tell us how would you make a Transformers movie."

Are you serious? You think just because I and many other people don't work in Hollywood, that we aren't creative enough to make movies? Good god...

The SS line sucks. Sure they're detailed, but they're also small and extremely cheap looking.

In all fairness, Lucas decided that Greedo shot first, not Disney.

The SW franchise has been tanking, imo, ever since. Add in Kathleen Kennedy as the captain, and u have a horrible mess. But hey, its amazingly progressive to shove strong female leads in every boy franchise. :rolleyes2  Im glad they pushed for female inclusion at the cost of the quality of the brand. (Rey was awful; Emilia Clarke would have killed it!).

Look u either accept that, or u cough up $50 per deluxe. Hasbro raised prices on deluxes by 15%!!!! That's ridiculous: I have not received a 15% pay rise. And if I had, I'd like to think it was NOT going straight to Hasbro.

You have the right attitude: stop vuying so much Hasbro product. At the price levels today? It's becoming a very self destructive hobby :(

I wonder if dropping "big budget" films means they wouldn't do things like the Bee movie which felt much smaller.

Up until TLK, the Bay movies were taking in money hand over fist.

    Let's not rewrite history here.

That you think Star Wars is exclusively a "boy franchise" is a you problem, not a them problem.

You know, they could\'ve avoided this if they had just fired Michael Bay when they had the chance XD

I've been wondering why they haven't done that for some franchises. There are things both PR and TF could do with animation that'd be really expensive otherwise.

And it's not like you can't still have room for big names as your voice cast if you're dead set on it.

You guys realize Transformers is just one franchise in their library, right? And up until the last few they were INCREDIBLY PROFITABLE.

Wait, huh? What does Disney have to do with RiD? We're talking about the 2001 version, right?

They just played RID 01 on the network. They had no hands in the production.

Even with the CGI limitations, they could still characterize the robots more. And even create more compelling human characters. The Transformers are probably never going to be as popular as Spider Man with the general public, but they could still create compelling characters that audiences want more of.

I wasn't saying Transformers has to be just like the MCU...I actually don't want Transformers to be just like the MCU...I was saying it could stand to take some notes on how the MCU handles its characters and storytelling. Those movies are popular for a reason, and Transformers' spectacle-based approach failed for a reason...current audiences are shifting away from just wanting big destruction and they're desiring stronger storytelling. The MCU has shown them they can have both. Transformers definitely has limitations that the MCU doesn't, and they need to work around those limitations. That doesn't mean they can't put more emphasis on storytelling and characterization, and keep the big spectacle.
