As the old saying goes ‘every shape serves a purpose’ so what are some alt modes you guys think could fit certain characters better? I’ll start:

hot rod as well, a hot rod

Wheeljack as a tow truck

Cosmos as an avrocar

Omega supreme as a crawler transporter carrying a rocket

Bumblebee as an atv

 

-Shockwave as a battleship, like the intent behind tidal wave. They've got similar shapes, while grounding him on Earth.
-Soundwave as a headmaster- Grounds him as a threat to humans while solving the mass shifting question
-Metroplex as a bucket wheel excavator. Basically cybertron metroplex but good. Would also be kick-ass to see him fight devastator

 

Megatron as a stationary gun/cannon emplacement. The parallels to Galvatron are increased, but he's still a weapon other Decepticons can wield.

 

Goldbug as a sports car. It shows Bumblebee’s maturity.

 

I'd like to change Greasepit into a redeco of Roller Force, since WFC didn't give us a monster truck Micromaster.

 

Megatron: Two words: blade cape.


Rumble & Frenzy:

Rumble is the car while a 2007 inspired Frenzy is the supercharger.

No pictures but Soundwave in my universe is a boombox triplechanging headmaster with a Prime Soundwave body made out of a bunch of Laserbeak drones.

Skywarp:


The seekers are basically disaster 20 year olds in my universe so it makes sense that they are smaller than the full sized jets or at least that's my excuse. Starscream is a trainer craft while the other two transform into drones.

Jetfire:


Replacement for the shuttle in homage to his Armada self even though he's based more on his RotF self age wise. The Iroh to Starscream's Zuko.

This is a great thread OP! I'll definitely post more later to add some Autobots if nothing else.

Optimus Prime

 

Optimus: A pickup truck with a look similar to G2 Laser Prime.

Bumblebee: Yellow motorbike. Sleek and small just like he should be.

Soundwave: A broadcast truck. His truck model will always be the same, but he can change his deco at will to match that of his area's local news provider. Character first, walking product placement second  

Seekers (Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker and friends): Sports cars of the same type, let's say an Acura NSX, and a body style exactly like Alternity. They'll be color coded each with their own unique colour schemes:

• Starscream - red and white
• Thundercracker - blue and white
• Skywarp - black and white
• Dirge - blue and black
• Ramjet - white and black
• Thrust - red and black

Megatron: THIS

Shockwave: I dunno I just think this looks like a really gorgeous alt for him. He mass shifts Lockdown style from small car to massive bot.

Tarantulas: A spider themed bot that turns into a car named the Spyder. Get it? No?

 

I like the idea of making Bumblebee a bike. Maybe that could also work with Hot-Shot, since he's an ATV in Rescue Bots Academy.

Optimus: Sheriff truck. You could call him something like Law Convoy or Sheriff Convoy in Japan.



Elita-One: Pick-up truck



Chromia: Armored personel carrier (She's a bit on the hefty side in my story)

Springer should be a helicopter and an industrial forklift, give those swords something to do in both modes

Personally, I have a few debatable ideas.

Megatron would be similar to RID 2001 in that he has an obvious amount of alt modes but with a bayverse design. So, a truck, helicopter, tank, ape, space jet, and a kibble covered robot mode.

Hot rod is a space sports car, like the original, but hot rodimus is just a more spacey sports car. Bigger back wings, hover wheels, synthetic flames. But then BURNING hot rodimus gains the trailer, but he turns into an actual space truck to match.

Soundwave is a pill speaker, with the "micro cassettes" having full alt modes to carry him. Laserbeak is a red seeker BB blitzwing style jet, rumble is a red and (more) black slingshot car, and ravage is a slick black rolls Royce. (Appropriate recolors share alt modes.)

 

Optimus: I originally had him as a fire truck but recently I've been thinking of going classic but with a twist - a horse carrier for his trailer. Ignore the Wells Fargo logo and still deciding on trailer colors since I want it to form a super mode.


Bumblebee:


Ironhide:


Chromia:Usually towed by Ironhide in vehicle mode but can also form a motorcycle like mode with a big gun on top.


Ratchet:He's a medic for robots who turn into cars, so a tow truck is perfect. First Aid becomes more unique for being an ambulance doctor and Ratchet's towing hitch can turn into a giant ratchet/ alien surgical tool in robot mode.

 

I'd like to see Bumblebee turn into an Audi TT:

 

Fun Fact: Hot Shot (Armada) who transformed into an Audi TT was originally going to be Bumblebee, Hasbro didn’t have the rights to the name at the time.

 

RID Scourge as this, I really like the idea of Optimus having an evil clone in a sense, but I feel like his evil version should be very different, like this different, I imagine a much more imposingly different robot mode as a way of symbolizing his desecration of Optimus' image.
