Well yes. If they say there's a limit of two then cancel orders with two and people's second orders of one each, then yes I would call that a secret limit. It happened to myself and multiple other people on the Road Rage thread. Second orders/orders with two canceled not even a minute after the orders were placed. Backend errors causing orders to be canceled is an important thing to warn people about, especially since canceled orders count against limits already.

That's not what's happening though, this is a case of confirmation bias combined with a sample size being far too low. If it was due to a quantity of 2, all of the orders over a quantity of 1 would be cancelled and they haven't been.

Second orders on something like this are always going to be auto-cancelled as it's restricted. e.g. Apparently Costco will only let you purchase 1 XBL Gold yearly sub for $50 once per account for all of eternity even though you could walk into a Costco and buy as many as you want. Costco will auto-cancel any additional orders containing any item with that limitation after an order is placed for it.

That was an example meant to showcase that literally anything else could be the root cause and that no one knows what it actually is. It can't be a quantity of 2 though as there is counter evidence that disproves that hypothesis. Something else flagged the orders that were cancelled and, it's highly unlikely that CS (GS; Guest Services in this case) will divulge why.

    So let's get this straight.

There are occurances of people having orders of two canceled and people having two orders of one being canceled. I gave a heads up to people who might be effected by it. I never said this absolutely happened to them, I gave them a heads up to check their emails since if I hadn't been given the same heads up I never would have known it had happened to me. There's literally nothing wrong with giving people a heads up that their exclusive, likely hard to find in person figure might have been cancelled on them. It doesn't matter if it's a secret limit, a backend error, an issue with payments, or general issues with multiple orders. If there's a noteworthy issue happening, wouldn't you want to know you might be effected?

The fact that I gave my assumption on whats happening (based on facts reported by multiple other users) doesn't change the fact that something unusual is happening and people deserve a heads up.

Just checked my orders page on the app & the website. I ordered 2 each of Road Rage and Draculus. No cancellation as of yet for mine.

Max item limit is 2. Also, it seems those that have had issues were ones that ordered using the mobile app. My order of 2 Road Rages are still intact and did that via desktop PC browser.

October 3rd is the only other day for Target Hasbro reveals. Hopefully they restock the exclusives that have been harder to find. I've never seen Origin Bee at my local Targets, and I think they only ever had one case of the BB 2 packs.

I used the app. I ordered 2 as soon as RR was actually available as I kept switching back and forth to the page and collectors page until it showed available. Added 2. Checked out. Went through and got email saying thanks for shopping. Even sent a survey after. Then ordered 1 Draculas because I was on th fence and still unsure if I wanted but kept the preorder. It went through as well.

Got my road rage preordered. Only ordered one don't need more than that. Hell, considering the problems tracks has, probably don't even need one.

Last time I ordered on the app was t wrecks and now those are shelf warming sons of bitches I have to dig through while futilely hunting to try and finally find a Galvatron.

There is no reason to be this aggressive nor act like someone else is confused and can't follow the information in 2 posts comprised of a total of 6 short sentences.

I never said this wasn't happening. I'm not sure why you felt the need to reiterate it.

I never said that you did, I offered proof that your assumption was incorrect and why it was incorrect. I even gave you the benefit of the doubt and called your line of thinking a hypothesis instead of stating you were making assumptions or telling you to hop off your jump to conclusions map.

I never said that there was but, that heads-up became something else entirely once you started talking about "secret limits".

This is flat out wrong. It absolutely matters, especially when someone decides to come into a thread and say that "On the Road Rage thread people were saying orders of more than one were being auto canceled because Target has a secret limit of only one per customer." without any other context or actually proof that's the root cause and then doubles down in the same thread by saying "Well yes. If they say there's a limit of two then cancel orders with two and people's second orders of one each, then yes I would call that a secret limit.". The cause clearly matters a great deal to you or, you wouldn't keep bringing up the "secret limit" which you managed to do again while saying the cause doesn't matter.

That assumption was formed without looking for any contradicting evidence and, that's what the issue is. At no point in this thread did you attempt to seek any further knowledge on the matter and, you became incredibly defensive when your assumption was called into question and was proven to be false.

I get that you're agitated over this (I would be as well) but, you can't decree that something unusual is happening. It might or might not be rare for an order to auto-cancel (no one is going to have the statistical data other than Target) but, an order getting flagged and auto-cancelled happens for a reason. Have you reached out to GS (Guest Services) to have them look into this issue and see if they can offer any clarity to what happened?

Like the cancellation notices that Target emailed to customers that had an order cancelled?

I cancelled my first Road Rage preorder because I forgot to use a gift card I had, and now I can’t get a new order placed at all because of these auto-cancelations. Thanks a lot, Target. This is certainly the right way to treat your Redcard holders.

I can tell we both have different views on the matter and I don't think either of us are going to convince the other. I don't like the fact that orders are being cancelled for no apparent reason, you don't like the way I approached the matter. That's fair. I never meant to be aggressive towards you. All I wanted was to warn people about an issue that might be effecting them and you came off as very dismissive of the situation. I've just had a lot of frustration with Target's pre-order system over the last year and after only getting three broken hours of sleep on a plane last night, this happening to me and many other people really upset me. The system is messed up and screwing people over and that's not okay. But I can see where I let that frustration seep into our discourse. That wasn't my intention and I apologize. But I can see neither of us is going to convince the other, so I'm just going to drop it.

Try again tomorrow. I don't know if it is true but I've seen some post that you can't place two orders for the same limit item in 24 hours or so. Then again it could be a hard limit and your screwed unless you can get it in person or use a work around. Do you know someone with a red card that might be willing to work something out with you?

Problem is I don't think you can use a gift card with a red card exclusive item. I want to say I saw that note as I was checking out.

I was ordering one at a time. You are correct though, the issue is with the app. I was able to place the order using a browser.

Gift card seems to be a problem, yeah. Tried again using the website instead of the app and got this message. I'll give it 24 hours before I try another order.

I did something similar. SUX big time.

I was told over the phone to wait 24 to 48 hours and try again.

I think that the red card needs to reset the transactions since they were cancelled. Mine still showed all the cancelled transactions as pending.

ALSO if you and another person in your household have DIFFERENT Red cards you can only order ONE TIME. At least that was my experience. Thought my wife with a separate account could get the toy ordered, but BAM, first order was cancelled on us.

I am thinking only Red Cards would be a valid payment type since it is technically a Red Card exclusive. It makes sense you can't use a gift card on a Red Card exclusive.

I appreciate all these cautionary stories, as this is the first Redcard exclusive I'm buying. I'm thinking that the best practice is to just place the one order, and don't change it - ever - until the figure is shipped, delivered, and in hand!

That wasn't my intent, I'm sorry that it came across like that. Unfortunately, perception and intent rarely align and perception tends to shove intent off a cliff. For what it's worth, when I type something out I almost always try to make it sound like a section in a text book (unless you see a string of colourful adjectives laced with profanity). I try to make sure that it doesn't look like there's anything to read between the lines and that there isn't a thinly veiled insult nor a blatant one. The last thing I want to do is make someone feel dismissed/unheard/shitty/miserable.

I truly hope that you and everyone else that ran into a cancelled order are able to figure out what happened and that you all are able to find a resolution that includes being able to get what you ordered for the price that you checked out with.

That's honestly the best practice for any order as it removes a ton of variables.

It's unfortunately one of those "you don't know what you don't know" situations though and most people aren't going to know until they have a bad experience or see someone have one. e.g I would have never thought Target's system was inept enough to keep an item lock in place when said item had a non-user cancellation.
