It was fantastic. 12 years in the comic had no right being this good. Though, to be fair, this was pro the final high tide mark.

Legends, all three of you. Amazing work!

I slipped the guy on the front door a fiver and promised I’d have round for homemade chips and deep fried pizza.

    Victory! Size of this dope!

Hey Teacher! Leave those Gundams alone! :confused2

Why do I get the feeling the New SS isn't going to look that visually impressive?

All the regular delivery folks for me are nice. With the exception of parcel force guy. Who keeps leaving stuff at our neighbours down the road.

All credit to your good self and @w00dimusPr1me !

I'd the honour of owning these guys about 10 years ago. Although saber lacked his jet hilt and blade. And Leo had zero weapons. But the size of them was impressive. He looks so good tooled up.

Also I was able to track down a ko saber and use its hilt n saber.

    Challenge accepted.

There's no denying the presence of the G1 though. Nothing is gonna beat that.

Nope, I thought (hoped) I'd get a balance request for Slag today - but nothing has shown up in my inbox.

FYI one hunting tip is you're probably gonna have to stalk the Dollies/Girls and/or Yung Uns' aisles to find them, they were in proximity to that sorta thing in both Toylands, amongst other small package items like those blind bags & blind...er, well, balls of mini-pets/teddies or summink (I did my best to scrub the full details from my brain), and the like.

Truth be told I'm probably too hirsute to qualify. Them buggers definitely wax. Will keep an eye out for another Thrust if you don't snag this one (I think Q_Prime responded first), if only for the classy continental ambience you bring to our drizzly mud-strewn UK thread :)

Couple of questions for the hive:

1: Wasn’t someone here selling that 3rd party legends Blitzwing that came out recently? Think it’s name is Thunderbolt. It looks great and I’m not a legends collector but I’d love to have a smaller Blitzwing to fiddle with. If so, DM please!

2: Can I interest anyone in a 3rd party MP scale Blitzwing from DX9? MIB just no instructions, DM for pics? Thinking £100 posted, but open to offers :)  just deserves to be on a display and not stored in a box.

3: Anyone want a full set of 5 POTP Dinobots with their weapons and Prime Armour? Grimlock comes with a G1 toy rocket launcher that came with the Matrix Workshop kit for SS86 Grimlock as I’m fine with the blaster he came with.

Think it’d make a nice project to create a set of G1 toy themed Dinobots with reprolabels and some weapons. I plan on getting the upgrade kit for Slag that includes his G1 toy launcher too so if someone wants this I’ll send them the launcher for Slag for free :)  once again open to offers on this but let’s start with £100 posted for all 5?

    Gracias!

I managed to find them near the other blind bags of stuff. Nothing interesting on any of the top pieces in show so held off buying as if rather know I was getting something I'd like. As with all of these things, I wish there was an easy way to find out what was in the blind bags. At least Lego you can generally work out by feel. Can't even do that with these (or Sylvanian families!)

What's this? A post from me NOT related to Star Trek? Whatever next...

I think I have a new favourite LEGO minifigure.

    20210910_191352.jpg

I was never going to get that humungous Daily Bugle set they put out, but Doctor Octopus has always been my personal favourite Spider-Man villain, so I just had to get him off of a seller on Bricklink. I love the tentacles, very posable and a lot better than this one I had way back in the olden days :lol

Also picked up some of my other favourites too. Can never get enough of Quentin 'fishbowl head' Beck.

Oh come on, I'm jelly of the shots you do. Let's not fight, honey.

In case I'm being monitored by the DRUGS POLICE I'm saying nothing.I just enjoy imagining the look on their faces if you tried to take it onto a plane. Hey, the dog didn't smell anything, so it can't be dodgy, right? Please uncuff me officer, and kindly remove your hand from my sphincter.

Hahaha. Oh man that looks so boring, and I'm saying that as someone who really likes the Mindwipe mould! But god, every time they try and make a robot look like a guy wearing clothes it falls flat.

    I mean honestly.

Smyths! They come in little tubs which are sorta-kinda blind-bagged. Each contain five of them but you do get to see one.

EDIT: Sorry, thought you meant the tiny toybox thingers. The little poseable figs are from neo-Diaclone. They're much too small to scale with deluxe cars or voyager trucks, but are just the right size to be pilots of voyager jets and the like. Also are reasonably good as de-suited nebulons!

Just the score, or did they also do a live performance of Clubbed to Death and Wake Up?

Anyhow, for any film music lovers the Matrix scores are definitely worth a revisit if you've not done so recently. They're so weird and intricate. This video by Sideways is definitely worth your time.

I did! It's really good, a genuine improvement on the absolute half-assed shambles of the vanilla game... but in a way it just makes things worse in that you just end up wishing for what could have been...

KOTOR 2 is so much more interesting and innovative than KOTOR 1, even though the former is a more coherent and solid experience overall. In a way, KOTOR 2 is like TLJ, challenging and deconstructing the tropes of trad Star Wars while both KOTOR 1 and TFA lean into those same tropes.

This is what I'm talking about. I mean, come on.

Actually, this reminds me, I've been vaguely thinking about getting a long-overdue phone upgrade and obviously I'd like one with a decent camera that can get good focus at close range. And without breaking the bank obviously. Does anyone have any recommendations for makes and models to look out for if I ever muster the patience to step into a phone shop again?

They were in a part of the shop I don't normally even notice, let alone visit. on a low shelf display by the window among lots of cheapo tat impulse buys and the like, off towards the baby toys and board games. I'd half expected them to be near the tills with the Lego minifigs, but nope.

I still think the combined robot looks utterly daft. Just a fella standing on little bucket stilts. But at least the combined alt mode doesn't look so bad, extra wingspan makes Star Saber look less like a brick with a cockpit.

A word of warning to anyone who likes good poseability in their bots, I asked about it on the movie toys thread and that pointy hood thing completely restricts his ability to turn his head. I was really looking forward to it, but will pass now as a non-turning head makes any pose look super-awkward and unnatural. Like Batman's hood in half of them movies.

How dare you, she's a nice lady.

Did you find just the small tubs, or were the larger packs there too? He asked for...reasons.
There's also the 10-or-20 packs which have a fair few of their contents on display, and, just FYI, if you see one with a tiny Skeletor it might be worth nabbing as he's a series 1 "Rare"!

So, after exhausting all other avenues (as in I went to Bodycare to see if they had a pearlescent/shiny frost nail polish - they did not, the only shiny white/pearl had that insect wing red/green iridescent sheen, no kind of snowblindness-creating icy white) my research seems to reveal that Mr. Hobby pearlescents are clear lacquer top coats that add sheen over base coats, so tonight I have been a very brave boy, and had a go at painting Max Grim's blade white, and, less bravely, picked out the guard/tsuba in GOOOooooooooollllld.
Grimlock remains wary of the process but is willing to see it out (after I called him "chicken" for doubting)...
    DSC_0091.jpeg DSC_0090.jpeg
The thing is wot I am after is making it a "Nature"-themed upgrade from his old Energo/n* Sword to a "Solar Sabre" glowing white like Anakin's lightsaber in A New Hope to show it's white hot (like a sun), and therefore implicitly more powerful than his "red hot" G1 blade - plus keeping to white-ish means his wee sword tail-tip won't stand out like Dinobots little metallic pink lipstick.
    Now to source some pearl!

Also someone on the Twitters said that they'd like to see Matt Berry play Wolverine in Live Action, and, uh, yeah, I think I NEED it!
    Screen Shot 2021-09-10 at 20.06.39.png
I could see him pull off a great take on the "I'm the best there is at what I do" comic Logan attitude on film, with a nice side of self-deprecation, and humour.
Plus I bet he could surprise on the straight acting bits to (X-Men) boot!

    Friday...I think.

I had a rare couple of beers last night to help me sleep and due to my meds they kept me snoozing until early this evening so it worked a bit too well although being out of it has undoubtedly helped with the initial shock of my news.

Thanks to everyone who's either sent me supportive messages privately or here, it's appreciated as always, much love to all of you!

I've been watching all sorts of things to try and make me smile....Del falling through the bar is always good for doing that whatever the scenario :D

Also going to start a watch through of the 2nd Doctor era as a way of remembering one of the ways me and Rick initially bonded which will be emotional but I think he'd want me to remember him via something we both enjoyed so it's as good a way as any.

Rebecca ferret has been great, she knows when I'm not myself and gave me a lick on the nose which is always fun as it tickles, she's a softie when she wants to be and we've helped each other with recent losses :)

Dad has been great, Mum started off on a hugely insensitive rant and I stopped that with a look, not having that at any price.

Ordered ML Ultron from Star Action Figures and looking forward to adding him to my lineup of villains. I didn't actually mind the MCU Ultron design despite being a bit "Bayformers" but prefer the classic look and the Kirby crackles work suprisingly well as a 3D effect piece for his mouth.

    Draculabot is hilariously crappy :D

Potentially intrested in the Wolverine game if it's on the PS4 as I'm still not sure I can justify getting another console.

Matt Berry as Logan = Would have some of that! :D
