You want frustrations? I've been harras ... er, requesting PX for the FoC Combaticons for YEARS now and they've gone back 'n' forth regarding making a finalized decision weather to go with it or close the matter for good.

    ............. I'm still waiting :lol

Too bad that OS KO that was teased years ago never came to fruition.

At least it keeps the dream alive for us.

So, so long as people keep buying what they’re selling, there’s hope.

Sense they seem to be repainted Vulcan all the time i think it would be cool if they did him as transmetal Megatron with a new headsculpt like how Hasbro was going to do it but scrapped it.

Wich one do you recommend the regular or the metallic version? I would like to collect swoop, slug, snarl too, probably sludge not because he was not in the game( only as dead).

Planet X Metallic figures all look great (Prime, Grimlock, and Shockwave to name a few), though some (like Prime) have some tight tolerances during transformation due to the extra paint. However, I have not noticed any such issue with the Metallic Grimlock, so I'd recommend the metallic version - it looks much more premium than the original without any drawbacks! I've transformed and posed him several times and have not seen any difficult issues due to the extra paint nor any paint chipping.

Hm, that's a good question. I honestly never bothered with the other Planet X dinobots as I personally don't like their look very much, so I just kept Grimlock. I don't like the plain grey plastic they used for the dinobots - I'm sure you could find pictures in this thread with the metallic Grimlock along with non-metallic dinobots. I don't think PX has any plans to re-release any other dinobots in metallic as I believe metallic Swoop sold very well.

I don’t think the metallic would look bad with the others but ymmv. The metallic looks really good.

What do bois? Preorder up for this figure’s metallic version are up. However, Possible reissue of Cacus as FOC Grimlock in the future have me second guessing picking this guy up.

Pretty sure a reissue of Cacus as FOC Grimlock isn't going to happen. It would require an entirely different mold to be accurate. The only reissue of Cacus we know of is for the MTMTE version.

Aight thx for the second opinion. Yeah I did notice that the chest is almost entirely new on Cacus. Plus knowing 3rd party companies I could be waiting years before anything comes out better than Vulcan.

I’m about to pull this big boy out of storage for the first time in a few years. I was wondering if anybody could summarize whether or not any QC issues were discovered in the past few years. I’m currently browsing the thread myself, but I’m not really finding anything and I don’t know if that’s a good sign, or I’m just overlooking things.

I got one that was misassembled and missing screws in his forearm. BBTS refunded me the full amount but told me to keep the figure without returning it. Which was odd. I was finally able to fix the misassembled arm but its still missing the screws and I have no idea what size they are or how to find out. They are small enough that home depot and lowes cannot tell me. He seemed to also not be able to transform properly too as I never could get him in dino mode. And his sword came with a stress fracture on the handle straight out of the box. So it put me off on ever trying to get another which was a shame because other than Triton (Paddles) I loved the other 4.

I got the standard and the metallic versions too. I think the metallic gold, red is a bit too much so i prefer the standard in robot and the metallic in t-rex mode.

Got mine today, does anyone else have issues with loose swivels in the arms, specifically the left one?

He can't seem to hold the weight of the shield at all.

Don't know if it will work for everyone, but I managed to tighten the joint by stretching clear tie band (ones that often came in old tf boxes) into the cap in the joint, pulling around and cutting the excess

It can hold the shield perfectly fine now
