Alright, gonna need some help here @Nevermore @Black Convoy Saw this case at a TRU in Hamilton, Ontario Canada this afternoon. I think the Optimus is new while the others are repackaged? Or is the whole case just a refresh?
Optimus looks like a slight redeco of the Mosnter Truck Optimus from Rescan Wave 8. Transformers Rescue Bots Academy Monster Truck Optimus Prime Images - Transformers News - TFW2005

That is the larger size Feature Bot as a tow truck... the monster truck that came out this year was the smaller size Rescan Bot. That means for the Feature Bot size class, we now have... w1 - Medix w1 - Whirl w2 - Hoist w2 - Wedge w3 - Hot Shot (w4 all re-release) w5 - Bumblebee w6 - Optimus Prime .
Rescue Bots has so much fun with all these different alts. I wish some would show up in either Cyberverse or Generations.
I found this new Optimus at a Pick N Save Marketplace in Menomonee Falls, WI about a month ago. Pick N Save is part of Kroger, so checking Kroger Marketplace stores would be a place to start looking.
I thought I had posted these pics here before, but I can't find them... so here is a comparison of the two new Optimus toys, that are made to look the same in robot mode, but have different truck modes...
that’s no tow truck that’s monster truck with hook still looks better from boring tow truck his bot mode looks more ape less robot toys are made kids they have playing with them to bad tow trucks can’t look more like this remember your comment to pass on to others when they complain about next transformer in movie not looking like g1 representation of them self in cartoons.
That would really defeat the purpose of the play pattern for their target audience. The open-arms-and-they-transform gimmick is great for kids of this age. On the couple that I’ve altered to allow shoulder movement, they get really unstable and un-fun for youngsters quite quickly.
Supposedly this is all a consequence of the target age demographic being lowered by one year from that of My First Transformers/Playskool Gobots. Automorph may seem easy in principle - but the mechanism can get stuck. (see many contempary Cyberverse toys with the same problem) Playskool already long since solve the arm issue - Hasbro just wanted to reduce parts and not use it. The reason why the arms not moving is a poor idea (even more so on mega scale items) is that it limits the effectiveness of accessories they could be selling like the Rescue Minibots. such a limitation reduces the play value to not much more than that of a static Vinal toy. I don't disagree with the idea - which likely existed in the designer's head which was the kid being able to swoop easily back and worth between moulds - but think on this some One steps are aimed at not much older kids and do much the same thing - but they do usually (though not always) raise their arms too. So My contention is look more at what other solutions are. & see if anyone is enough of a Karen to complain that their child is to stupid to be able to Transform a rescue bot or not. (oh and incidentally not all rescue bots have immoveable arms either so it's not like it's even consistant on that point eiter).
