Since the white magnus core bot has removeable fists, seems like the perfect opportunity for a 3D printed pair of blue blocks that can plug into the wrists.

Boom. problem solved. Now stop bitching and start designing.

 

The lack of covers for over the hands was a weird choice. Obviously I don’t have it in hand but I think they could have extended the length of the chest plate hinge to fit in a separate blue flap attached to the same pin that can cover the fists the blue flaps could hide underneath the trailer sitting near the trailer hitch in vehicle mode.

But hey it’s fine, I have a 3D printer and I can do what Chuckcjc has said if it really bothers me.

I have no issues with the back side. For what this figure is doing you really can’t work around that at its scale and it will be facing a wall at all times on a shelf.

 

Hopefully NA will read all of this and include a set of plug in filler hands. Like how they made new legs for some of the Constructicons.

Not really a fan of white Optimus concept, but it is easy enough to ignore and guarantees the alt-mode will scale well with the rest of the carbots.
The added cost isn't great, but not the end of world.

 

I think the proportions are nicer than the MS. I also like the idea of an armored up white prime/Magnus as I only have the MP. While we're all keeping our eyes on this, the price will be interesting to see.

 

Since the hands are there literally all you need is a peg the same size of the gun handle attached to a small blue or white square. 2 Squares. Instant fix.

 

That sounds like an idea for a quick and easy upgrade kit, @NOCV.  

 

I completely agreed with you. As a die hard Armor UMagnus fan, you are not alone on the aspect of loving a white Magnus robot wearing an armor trailer. I saw the cartoon UM first before owning his toy. But once I got the toy and realizing he was the only TF in his time (S1-S4) to have the armor gimmick made me love him even more. Sometimes just because something doesn't show in the toon world, it doesn't mean it didn't exist. That like saying all G1 Rodimus Prime trailer shouldn't have the battle platform deck gimmicks since it was never featured in the animation.

Despite all the NA UM flaws, to me, what NA UM give us today is almost a milestone or a design breakthrough in which an Armor UM is that close to the G1 cartoon UM. Particularly, that slim body profile on a G1 Armor UM toy that has never been done before where we are used to see him as bulky and fat. The next 3P will take cue from NA UM and build the improvement over that to give that us Masterpiece look. I feel Armor UM design is heading in a good direction for future release. All this remind me back to MP1 where Kobayashi made a milestone for G1 Prime by creating that front wheel cab disappeared into the chest to give us that majestic look!

 

Still waiting on an MP like this takara...
