Yeah I've had him out with the others and kinda surprised how big his forearms seem, and how small and, in particular flat back-to-front, his head seems! Deffo needs an update.

In all fairness, ShowZ is pretty much the only source that had at least a viable number to go off of. Hell, I used that in my size chart that I posted in that thread and was also a bit put off at the discrepancy, but it's all we have so far so I just went with it. It's certainly not set in stone and I never tried to say or paint it as such, but it's at least something we can kinda go off of and see at least a glimpse of what we're gonna be dealing with come later this month. That is, if Acoustic Wave actually ships on time.

Aside from that I agree, a Soundwave 2.0 should be the same height as MP-13, I see no reason for there to be anything otherwise.

Man, the essay responses I get whenever I state that simple fact is mind-blowing (99% of them are always ignored, mind you - I don't even read them.). People take it so personally, they will literally make up stupid BS in order to justify their PREFERENCE (because that's all it is, their preference, and that shit doesn't matter).

I even go out of my way to say that I actually like the combiner size that has been set by some 3P companies and that it has spoiled me, but that a combiner MP scale has not been set yet... OMG. More essays!

I really don't see how it is so hard for some to accept facts man, it is simply downright embarrassing. It's not an opinion, it is a fact. TT dictates what the MP scale is, period. Not everyone has to like it but it doesn't make it less true. They own the fucking brand man, like wtf?

Yes, 3P is free to do whatever they want (isn't that what they do anyway?) and size their figures as big/short as they want. THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT MP SCALE.

If we don't complain how will they know we don't like it?

Will someone post a picture of 36, 52, and 29 standing straight up, legs together, all in a row so I can see the heights?

Well the thing is though, no one actually cares about "MP scale" in and of itself, people just care about how their toys match up to the fiction of their preference.

Divorced from any fiction, scale is meaningless since literally anyone can be any size.

Problem is that the scale of the MP line, if you get down to the history of the line, is based on MP-3 Starscream.

MP-10 officially set the scale for anything to come after it, but MP-10's size was determined so he scaled properly with the Rodimus Prime mode of MP-9, while kobayashi scaled MP-9 to MP-3. So at the foundation of the consistent MP scale is MP-3 Starscream...and MP-52 Starscream is shorter.

So what exactly is the right size for Starscream? The one that is at the foundation of the MP scale or the newest release?

It also pressumes that TT is infallible and/or ignores the possibliity that TT gets the scale wrong on purpose. (The latter we know happened with Ultra Magnus since his size wasn't the result of being scale accurate, but to carry four MP cars in altmode.)

(Just to be clear: I don't care. I prefer the figures being the size that looks right to me. If TT says they should be smaller of bigger and I disagree, then I'm not getting their product if I have options.)

Moral of the story: Unless there's a Bumblebee the size of Devastator, let's shut the fuck up about scale.

Seriously though the scale talk is just getting annoying. Shit's fine as it is.

The only reason why MP-52 is shorter is that MP-3's neck height is jacked up because the shoulders don't fully counter-sink into the torso. Otherwise, their body proportions are roughly equal.

The early MP can definitely add to the confusion (Grimlock should easily be the biggest MP til Jetfire gets released). I consider bots like UltraMag and FT Motormaster to be exceptions since they're trying to cram an entire truck into one bot.

True that MP03 is shorter than MP52, however, it also has an elongated torso due to it's engineering (the fuselage not being a faux part). If MP52 had a similar long torso, I feel that it would be the same height as MP03/11. MP10 had a similar elongated torso that was corrected with MP44, yet they are both pretty much the same height. Bumblebee is another good example; taller robot mode, yet, a smaller veh mode.

But, I do get were this can be confusing to collectors, the toon scale was all over the place! Especially in the case of the cassettes and minicons. I do feel that since Megs/Sunstreaker, HasTak has been trying to course correct all bots under one scale, though.

At first, I thought you were closing the thread for good, lol. I was like: this soon? Surely we can still talk about MP52!

MP 52 is the BEST MP STARSCREAM EVER CONCEIVED.

DO NOT @ ME ON THIS unless you agree. Otherwise, you will be ignored (like always).

    Thank you.
