Was this guy ever going to get a mass release? I thought it was a Walmart exclusive?

It'd be nice if they eventually mass release it. Now that I've taken such a love to him, I very much would like to get some wingmans for him.

I want Cyberjets.... But not like this. I would hope for small Deluxes.

Curious if they'll reissue him when the movie is released. Though given the film keeps getting pushed back, that'd probably be super hard to time.

I think they'd work as just straight reshells of this mold. The jet mode as it is scales quite well with the ER Seekers and I like the idea of them being a little bigger than the Seekers in robot mode, like they're a more elite version of them. Plus it's the perfect size for turning into Jetfire by adding removable armor.

I agree with you on the Jetfire part. But I hope Cyberjets can be relatively small so they could be spam-able like the Classic Seekers.

Pulse has him sold out and both Amazon and Ebay has him going for roughly the same prices from Japan. Also, if buying from ebay, make sure you check the sellers sales history. There's quite a few new accounts selling him and one for sure is a scammer. Luckily, I asked for a refund and got it since I knew the guy didn't have it to ship out.

Got him in today and I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but he is definitely better in hand than just looking at pics online. Pleasantly surprised

I wonder why some collab figures get new molds, while others are only remolds....

Also...how Hasbro hasn't re-deco'd that Maverick mold multiple times already remains a mystery to me.

    Probably a licencing/agreement thing..

It's the same with some other molds that are great but do not get reused, if only the engineering... But nope. TLK Voyager Megatron, Marvel crossover Hulk for just two quick example.

Probably partly boils down to available molds. For Maverick there wasn't an already existing F-22 mold. The only other completely new collab mold (JP93) is another licensed vehicle that would have been harder to retool from an existing figure. Ectotron and X-Spanse might as well be new molds, sharing very little with existing molds, the only 3 that are really obvious retools are Gigawatt, Tyrannocon Rex and Draculus and those 3 work really well as is so new molds weren't really needed.

I doubt they could do a straight redeco because the F-14 jet mode is licensed. But reshelling the jet mode into something more generic with some F-22 design elements would make it so perfect for Jetfire and the Cyberjets...

F-14. Movie Starscream is the F-22

That being said, Thunderwing, Boltflash, and *Jetfire all have F-14 alt modes

*The toy G1 Jetfire was adapted into is heavily based on the F-14
