Kinda doing a compare/Contrast with XTB.

This set's Streetwise looks, while XTB (may) have a better Groove.

GT is a future version that have updated their bodies

Just a question, which one do you guys think is the best looking both in bot and combined mode between XTB, MMC, and GT?
I'm not the type of guy who's a stickler about cartoon accuracy. But one thing important to me is not having a combiner torso and hand just laying around when displaying it in individual mode.
I like GT Devy because they don't use faux combiner parts, unlike TW variant.

All built-in part isn't a must to me. But I'm not currently liking the proportions of MMC (Unless they start to change it again).
So which one do you guys thinks is the best one?

Well, i am in on both fanstoys combiners, so partsform combiners.
But opted for this defensor to have atleast 1 all in combiner. The way i have in mind how its supposed to be.

I'd have to say the best all-around will probably have to be MMC, though personally i'm doubling up, MMC for bot mode, XTB for combined.

I think objectively XTB but I already gave up on him because Fuzz was a turd and I’m too dumb to transform him. I got GTs but am willing to give MMC a chance.

know that feeling. I watched the initial Fuzz vids & thought "boy he looks like a bunch of not-fun" and i was right out on XTB. At this point a bit of transforming fun is more important to me than hyper-toon accuracy, so i put deposits on the entire MMC set for time being.

We have only have renders of XTB and MMC's Defensor at this point and only one figure released by XTB (Fuzz/Streetwise). GT has one more figure to complete, maaayyyybee coming this year.

Kinda hard to judge yet, but from what we've seen so far

    MMC Maximas Pro:
    d941cc40d3.jpg
G1 style. If they're Combaticons are anything to go by, they'll transform and function well and technically look the part, but Will have a certain rough aesthetic to their proportions and overall sculpt

Compare Blast-Off's character model to the figure
    Blast-Off-G1MT.jpg

    images (6).jpeg
Might not be so pronounced in a hand, but I just can't help describing the figure as "gawky"

    XTB Bastian

Don't actually own any XTB figures, but they have a reputation of being a chore to transform and troublesome QC.

They also lean G1, maybe too G1. I know that may sound odd but the best I can describe it, some figures can have that softer, rounded "toonish" aesthetic.

    GT Guardian

GT does stylized takes of figures, recognizable to the original design, but not recreating every detail.

Or also adding new details, can really be up to your personal taste if that's good or bad.
    70a38620-242f-407b-adaa-7ec2afcbba88.jpg

They can sometimes use not fragile, but not super durable plastics too.

GT will be in the older 15 inch range. MMC might be slightly taller and XTB will aiming for the big 20 size.

GT will be using the older leader becomes the torso method, as well as separate hands and feet.

I believe there's talk MMC may not go entirely all-built-in again like their Bruticus, but will try to get closer to that.

XTB will likely go heavy partsforming, but maybe not the whole "skeleton" like a lot did with Menasor.

So, hope that provides some ideas.

Though, like I said, none of them even finished yet anyway. Maybe one will be visually off, but solid and fun to play with and another great-looking, but flop over if you look at wrong.

Ultimately, if you want a set mainly for Defensor, you should wait until more are released.

But if any of the individual Protectobots appeal, go for that.

I don't know man, I've been looking around and saw that GT Defensor is only around 38 cm while Jinbao OS Devy is 50 cm.
Might have to wait for how MMC turns out or the inevitable OSKO by Jinbao. XTB product looking kinda sus so I'll probably pass.

OM and GT, Maximas Pro surpass Guardian almost everywhere (aesthetics is subjective of course), but GT has the edge on the alt-modes, because they use clear plastic for the windows for the most part, Ocular Max usually leave some "windows" with just a black paint.

Huh? The Assaultus components all had translucent inserts where it was feasible. The space shuttle has reflective glass, so it's somewhat realistic for Volatus's windows to be painted over. Otherwise, the only other painted windows are on Impetus' quarter panels (because an insert would've interfered with the sharp corner at the front) and the faux glass for when he's transformed.

All windows on the GT's figures use clear plastic. OM's First Aid doesn't use clear plastic for the rear windows the same goes for the Assaultus set as you mentioned, it omits some clear tinted windows on Volatus and Impetus.

Yeah, OM's lack of extensive glass usage for the ambulance is a pretty big downer IMHO, since there's so much of it in alt-mode. Either all-glass or all-paint would look better IMHO, not the odd mix it currently seems to be.

I'd much rather have solid windows. Looks so much better on their inferno vs TT

Not too worried about MMC’s QC. If they make it, I’ll trust it’ll be alright. My biggest drawback about them is their Defensor will have no ass, a la FT Drag Strip, MMC Cliffjumper and scores of others. It’d be nice if they added a parts forming back piece for stability and aesthetics but that would go against their whole all-in concept

Me myself, I'm in it primarily for the bot modes and I like what I'm seeing so far.

Clear windows cause a lot of severe design problems for mps in general. Heck even in the most basic respect of toony aesthetics. Which is why its so cool MMC's FA for example cleverly hides away most of its front clear window in its back. It still boggles my mind how he does that, his whole front van section just kind of disappears in to bits where I'm so use to FA toys having huge ugly slabs of van hanging off him.

Clear plastic for the windows / lights, rubber tires, working treads... those are nice features I like to see in MP vehicles.
