Looking at this, and comparing to how other haslab projects have gone E.g.
11,000 backers looks certain, and 14,000 probably has a good shot too. It'll be interesting to see if it makes it to 20,000, though I doubt it will tbh :(

Not only procrastination but also all the 3rd party sellers throwing their orders into Hasbro and shooting that number up immensely
I anticipate hitting 18k, right past tier 2 but tier 3 is less certain

If it works like Galactus and nearly triples at the end, if the backers hit 7,000, tier three won't be a joke anymore

I don't think we'll see that big a jump. Star Saber isn't as impactful as Galactus and Transformers as a whole is far below the Marvel hype and fanbase. Maybe the Takara end will make up that massive gap in numbers but I don't foresee it is all

I have sat down and done numbers, at this rate if we break 7,400 minimum without international orders, a 50 percent jump will put it at 11,100, and a 200 percent jump will do it for the thing as a whole at this point

Few things to take into consideration. There are more marvel fans than there are tf fans. Sentinel and galactus are also more well known than victory saber. And sentinel barely hit over 20k. The only thing that gives me hope with victory saber is how fast it jumped to then 5k mark. And it hasnt even opened up to the japanese market yet. Time well tell. But i dont see this making it past 15k.

I know that more people are Marvel fans than Transformers Fans, but then there are those who are just collectors of anything and everything.

Hitting all the tiers would be nice. But I’m fine if it doesn’t happen so long as SS gets backed.

Whew, you go away for a few days and people come out swinging to dethrone you. Now I know what Megatron always felt like. :D

But today on everyone's favorite original The Hasbro Super Funding Graph, there is yet another double shot of graph-y goodness.

    Star Saber cutoff line2.jpg
Despite the recent unveiling of actual prototype photographs as well as the first live public reveal of early test models at Fan Expo Boston this past weekend, the numbers of new daily backers have begun to steadily decline. As of posting, the campaign currently sits at 5810, which is less than 100 more than it reported 24 hours ago. It seems clear that we have entered the beginnings of the stagnation phase that has previously afflicted all past Haslab projects. With this current trajectory, Star Saber should break the 6000 barrier by the end of the week, but it will likely be a long slow slog through the next several thousand orders. If past history is a guide, only the addition of affiliate orders--or perhaps the announcement of a project major update--will truly move the needle until we close in on the final days of the campaign. There is the possibility that fully painted prototypes or the announcement of the next stretch goal could garner a backer boost; however, Hasbro's track record does not inspire much confidence.

Yet if there is good news to be gleaned from the last few days, it lies within the second installment of "Bars Up!"

    SS vs Uni.jpg
At the T+10 mark, the Star Saber Campaign had easily crested the halfway point and was inching towards 55% completion. Although the previous 5 days didn't record the same proportional backer increase as Unicron, Star Saber's impressive day one numbers combined with the higher funding requirements still place it far ahead. Indeed the next several episodes of "Bars Up" will evidence the truly languishing stagnation of the Unicron project.

As for housekeeping, you will all notice that I have included the 100% completion mark for the Unicron campaign as well as the approximate final number of backers when it closed on day 84. It ended at roughly 150% completion. Star Saber in contrast will have to beat those percentages if it hopes to reach the final, as of yet unknown, Tier 3.

    THIS.

A retro G1 styled box would be an icing to the cake for this TF crowdfund.

I hope the gold/yellow is the same color on both. It would make them more unified

While there are more Marvel fans not all of them are collectors of Marvel Legends since the Marvel license is allowed to be used on almost anything at this point. With Transformers fans, most will have some sort of collection of actual figures and going by this site the general deciding factor to get a figure isn’t name recognition but if it looks cool.

Also look at the Star Wars HasLab projects. The Barge just barely got over 5000 backers and was from Return of the Jedi, a well known and loved film for nearly 40 years. The Razor Crest got 28,000 backers and was from a recent series on a brand new streaming service that wasn’t even a year old at the time of the campaign. That shows that it isn’t always about how well known the film/series the project is from.

Then there is the actual design of the figure in question, which is huge for Transformers fans. A lot of people were put off by the design of Unicron being a giant shellformer for $575 and that he needed a stand to well stand. There were even well known Transformer reviewers such as JobbytheHong who didn’t buy it and they buy all the expensive shit. Victory Saber has so many unique aspects that make him appealing to fans: Brainmaster gimmick, a super robot form, a combined robot and alt mode form, a bit with an animal alt mode, and different weapon accessories. All of that for the price of a Titan figure which normally don’t come with anything close to that much cool stuff.

Why jump the gun? Let's just wait if he does get to 10k,15k etc. Heck, even before this was released, a lot were speculating this won't be Star Saber when the hints of V and "Let's Say Go!" was already a giveaway.

I'm more worried for QC issues and if Hb can really fulfill all orders(given the current world wide situation plus a news reort about potential toy shortages this year and beyond).

    Even better. :D

OOOH, I would not oppose that scenario. Nothing says "Legacy" than delving into TF lore that isn’t G1 or BW or the Movieverse!

Woof. Who feels old? Not me, that’s for sure. :p

I would think so, which is why he's not labeled "War for Cybertron" or "Studio Series" or anything.

    He's just "Transformers Victory Saber."

Odds are pretty good if he's successful, the project wrapping on the 10th of October could lead in to the final reveal of the full line.

Unicron took 10 days to go up on TTMail. That would be *today* with regard to Star Saber.

Which is also US Labor Day. So it's possible the listing will be going live soon and there's just nobody at Hasbro over the long weekend to cross the last few "t"s.

They could be a bit bitter with the Diaclone Girdman fig set to release this month being a very Star Saber like fig not getting as much attention due to this coming out.

Takara wants this made just as much as Hasbro does. They're not gonna tank it.
