my point was…it used to be you’d go with an overseas retailer to save a bunch. now with a matter of $10, i’d rather buy from within the states that will ensure a safer arrival.

Fair enough. I do think Showz has one thing up their sleeve still tho. A preorder is almost always honored, while American retailers can freely change the price after your order and charge you more.

BBTS still usually honors their prices, except under extreme circumstances, and that's usually at supplier bequest (I think recently, there was a bit where they eventually cancelled the original XTB Virtus pre-orders, because the new list price was so far away from the original solicited price). But they still honoured my original $210 pre-order for Thomas, despite the prices creeping up to $280 or $300 or whatever they were by the time I actually shipped him.

 

Really? Huh thought I heard of them changing the price eon much cheaper items. Huh.

 

I mean, usually under such circumstances, the difference is only $10-20 or so so they just roll with it. Virtus was an extreme case where the supplier outright told everybody to do it because there was no way the store was going to make any profit.

Somewhat surprised they held my original price for Thomas, since that was a fairly large discrepancy as well, but I'll take it.

 

I guess they got FT beat with their 5 years for Outrider and Berserker.

Looking at the situation from a business perspective maybe these companies sit on designs for a few years till the saturation for the character dries up. Once a new shiney version of a character you bought 5 to 6 years ago comes out with better articulation etc it'd more than likely sell more.

£145 is ridiculously cheap by today's standards. I'm convinced XTB's pricing structure is determined by a spin the wheel system at this point.

 

It's 110 if you use TFS-Express China. Opt for cheaper postage and it's 125.

I'm thinking of the 20 quid saving versus possibly adding vat plus admin fee and paying 10 quid more...

 

Have they said who the mini figures are yet?
