Newage comments on their Weibo post that the price will be 3XX RMB, so I guess it will be about $90 on ShowZ.
They also comment that the design is fixed, so probably there will be no changes with the mold, just few things will be repainted.
I'm a bit sad with the chest, I wish it could be sth like below. But as it's pretty small, I don't think I should be worried too much. For me, NA figures always look and feel better in hand than in photos.

 

Some of magnus's leg issues in combined mode could be fixed by simply making the upper legs and pelvis white.

The fact that this transforms instead of partsforms and doesn’t have extra kibble is definitely great.

But the trailer being the same length as the cab, major oof. And the leg proportions and hip skirt on prime look a lot better than UM.

Not really applicable at all, but it’s kind of funny that on white prime you’ll be able to open the matrix window chest hinges, and then the prime window chest hinges, and then fold the whole thing down to expose a second set of chest windows.

Really surprised so many are just accepting the completely open back, blatantly visible arms, broken up Prime chest for almost $100. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky  

 

MS looks a lot cleaner, but NA per usual imo has a better head sculpt.

I would prefer a non red bumper simply because that's an animation model reference in a toy design that is not really animation based.

Knowing NewAge, we will probable get many different variations, upgrade parts and so on - So I imagine there will be something for everyone!

 

For me it’s not nitpicking it’s choosing where I want to spend my money. I love the fact we have multiple options for Magnus. I wish some of the less popular characters had even one good choice. I followed both the MST and NA threads with definite interest. I had the most hope for this one though since it didn’t require me to hunt down the white Prime figure I skipped.

This one came closer for me for an armored Magnus. And so close. A couple of panels to cover the shoulders and a better solution for the matrix chamber. On the latter I wonder if they could have devised a way to swing the doors to the side of the core bot in armored bot mode so that when opening the armor doors there wasn’t a second set of doors to open. Obviously would have needed a wider chest for room for that.

Anyway all of these choices would have amazed me back when I had my original Magnus figure which was basically a block with arms! LOL Never would have dreamed they’d come this far or I’d still be collecting them this many years later.

in the end this boils down to not wanting to pay what this will undoubtedly cost for a figure that doesn’t completely do it for me. If it ticks all the boxes for someone else, great!

 

I hope so! I'm holding out for a Powered Convoy redeco.

 

Oh totally - and it’s not like you CAN’T criticize the stuff that bothers you about it - But the messy back argument is so absurd to me. I actually like the visual interest of the back of the NA over the plain one of the MS, but totally see how that wouldn’t be the case for someone else - but again, ITS THE BACK OF THE FIGURE! I cannot think of a display option that means you’d be paying attention to the back solely, as if you wanted to have them all looking up at haslab Unicron?
Then It’s kinda stealing the show, you know?

How is this not a partsformer? The lower legs, thighs, and chest are all separate pieces, aren't they?

Let’s not forget that MS gets the cleaner look by removing the head, hands, and stacks completely from the inner bot and then adding the armor.

 

the back could be better IMO but it’s not like his core bot face is peeking out or something. LOL The back of my mft KO is the truck cab so this beats that as far as I concerned. Different strokes as they say.

 

Whats 5 loose pieces when it actually cleans up nicely?

 

And then those same people are the ones that complain about Devastator’s partforming. Typical.
