so how much do you think it is going to go for? the 698 is roughly $108 US that I'm guessing is Taobao price before shipping. so what, $150, $160 US maybe, I don't get too involved into the speculation of pricing but a rough guess from someone who is better at it would be very helpful.

 

GT Gravity Builder is the best all round Warbotron scale combiner team we've had (could make an argument for TFC Poseidon).

These guys may take that crown. Blades robot mode is pretty weak, but everything else looks exquisite. Defensor just needs to stand up without involving a massive balancing act.

I've been waiting for this Hotspot for nearly 5 years now (I think). Unless this fails to do what it's supposed to spectacularly, the sheer satisfaction of finally completing this set is probably going to make this the release of the year for me.

I have to admit, when I saw that Hotspots shins were becoming Defensors thighs, and HS's thighs were becoming D's crotch, I was a bit worried, as that's really old-school engineering and is not renowned for stability, but seeing this pose:

I'm a little less concerned.

 

Little quibble about what appears to be the front of the truck stuck on Hotspot's arms as rather bulky kibble, but hardly an unique problem

 

Finally. It's finished! It looks great. Hopefully the combiner is stable indeed.

I hope Hot Spot is stable as well. I think he carries a lot stuff on his back.

 

This is just too cool! Really the team I've wanted finished for so long now!

That's actually the only part I really didn't like about the whole set, how blades undercarriage parts are a little unfinished in arm-mode! But I found a way of slotting them on to his blades when he has those in robot mode that made him feel a lot more stable at least. I'll try and do a pic of that.

I'll say, jesus christ that guy is a beast! I especially liked the First Aid transformation to bot and the big reveal of Hot Spot!

Absolutely man, he's definitely been worth the wait looking how good he turned out (like you wrote, almost a shoe-in for figure of the year for me too) but I must admit I nearly gave up hope last year/this year that he'd ever be released. I'm sure it's going to work well, it's helped that they've really not tried to overload the limb bots with diecast too!

I already have a deposit down on Hotspot at Terry's.

While I can still find them, I wonder if they'll be doing reruns of the rest of the team.

And if this is (hopefully) not GT's swansong, really hope they tackle something like no one is doing lie Monstructor or Victorion.

 

They also haven't done Superion.

 

I considered them, but there's currently that one Dream Star is doing.

Course, I know they would likely be very different styles, but would just be nice to have some variety of characters (though Aerialbots would be a safer bet financially).

Plus Zeta and Fanstoys have G1 style ones, too.

Considered suggesting Abominus too, but TFC already in the almost done with their stylized take.

Since I don't have either, maybe (technical) 2.0 takes on Bruticus and Computron would be interesting

I have the Jinboa version, hips are plenty strong on that. Feet can be slightly fiddly.

 

They're going to milk this set for all it's worth.
