I’m starting to see Stomp be available for purchase and the prices are, dare I say… lowering? So it’s got me thinking… do I cancel my acoustic wave PO in hopes of finding a better, cheaper deal later this month?

 

It's definitely a question worth asking. Kind of happy my pre-order is at BBTS. No deposit and they get their batches hella late, so if Acoustic Wave ends up cheaper somewhere it's an easy cancel.

 

Idk. Id be patient. Stomp and soar sold out immediately after release but since they were reissues there were plenty available pretty much everywhere ever since that initial sell out. New releases like aw sold out and have stayed that way with the exception of a few popping up here and there. Always ur choice of course but I wouldn't cancel just yet

Same. Mercari still has a Swoop for less than retail unsold. I forsee a Lake Mead style drying up of sky high secondary markets on the Faaaans Toys which is what I think the plan was all along w. the reissues and price hikes.

 

With Stomp in particular it could be more because it's a reissue and they made enough that anyone who wanted him was able to get him without paying those insane prices on eBay. People also, as an alternative, went in for the Giga's whilst waiting for FT to reissue. So there's more than one way to collect the Dinobots.
I ordered through TFSExpress for $200 and put Soar and Tesla on the same order so I'm paying a lot less in shipping for combining the three. I personally haven't seen the prices going down by much. Bombusbee still have a couple Soars in stock at $320 inc shipping... $270 without. But they've yet to put up "in stock" Stomps. This may be because they are showing over 20 that haven't paid the balance yet. Show.Z have dropped to $229 without shipping and it's only $15 more to ship. The shipping prices seem to be quite random across Chinese sellers also. Some add a larger postage cost onto a lower priced figure. Some add a lower postage cost onto a higher priced figure. Some say "free shipping" with the highest priced figure. Some say "free gift" (sorry Spindrift 2.0) and incorporate the cost of said "free gift" into the overall price. And they all seem to balance up around the same price point anyway, give or take.

I personally wouldn't cancel Acoustic Wave because when was the last time we saw an MP Soundwave? And who else is making one? Even though it appears more have been made I imagine scalpers will be working this one if they can on the aftermarket. I'd keep your PO if I was you. Having said all that, I could be entirely wrong as per usual. RP, or FT, or whoever may see fit to reissue again in the near future? Heck! TFSource may even put him up on a customer appreciation week in 3 years time for $600, tapes included! I'd keep the PO if I were you. Stomp didn't "sell out" at PO base level I don't think either, whereas ol' AW here did. At least I don't think he's still available to PO anywhere.

Where did we get this idea he's gonna be shorter than MP-13??

Going by stores' listing of figure size - seriously? I'll believe it when I see it. Can't see any reason they'd make this shorter than MP-13. If anything he could stand to be a little taller. Especially with DS compressing the height range of the Con leaders rather than sticking with the sacred scale chart. DS Seekers with a Soundwave smaller than MP-13 will be all kinds of wrong!

 

Yeah it's hard to see why FT would go smaller with Soundwave, when their scaling as always been on the larger side compared to most other companies.

 

Hey guys just wondering. Are fanstoys usually on time with their release dates? Or do they usually have delays?

 

Just like everyone else, delays happen.

 

Like every other 3rd party release expect delay. I would assume this one would be at least close to on time since the pics were finished product and not grey test. also, they have not released a new fig recently. I think spindrift 2.0 was last?

I'm most worried about them not releasing Cliffjumber now that official is on the way, especially since takara version looks like crap in my opinion.

They have been mostly on time this year, but still you are probably going to get this sometime next month than later this month.

 

I'd imagine this thing is going to be a license to print money. I went back and forth on getting the pack of tapes, hopefully there will be some available, and it won't turn into a fiasco like Thomas was.

Show Z has the second batch of Stomp arriving end of this month. Hopefully this guy will not be delayed.

 

So TCP now has this guy coming in October. Is there anything official anywhere as to why? Is this just a guess? I know the 3 tapes were always set for October. I was looking forward to getting this guy this month.
