And also why he dies by having his head blown off by Bee. I guess Cogman was meant to replace it. There was so much shit in that movie and some of it remained as vestigial concepts.
Hey gang, I came across this TLK Behind the Scenes video that I'm not sure I've ever seen before. Gives a rundown of most of the major robot characters in the movie and some tidbits on their characterization, creation and development. There are a handful of CG model rotating shots in this video, which unfortunately is only 720p. Might be helpful!
Thanks for posting! So much amazing work and thoughtful design for such a mess of a movie. It's such a shame. It really feels like the ideas were fully formed but when it comes to how the film actually came out there were only bits and pieces of hundreds of ideas and it never comes together on any level. It actually makes me kind of sad.
was already in this or other thread, good stuff actually wish they did same and more special stuff for previous movies.
Steve Jablonsky Discusses the Difficulties of Working on The Last Knight - Transformers News - TFW2005 They cut the movie down a ton to fit a certain runtime. I don't think the full version would have swayed those who didn't like it, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more.
I've always thought they included medieval knights and the three-headed dragon in the movie as an attempt to capitalize on Game of Thrones' popularity at the time. Also the Decepticons' introduction was pretty much a copy-paste of a suicide squad scene.
I think as a film it was doomed from the start since they put so many different ideas in the story. Depending on how you break it down there could be anywhere from 2-5 separate stories in one movie! Not to mention the dropped storylines from aoe that were never given proper follow-through.
It's so frustrating that the movie essentially stops being a sequel to AOE after the first act. Cade just peaces out on the Autobots (in what is actually a relatively interesting setup, the Autobots living out their days in a junkyard with some actual glimpses of their lifestyle and downtime) to set up the Transformers Cinematic Universe in England with Anthony Hopkins. Anyway... back on the topic of CGI Renderings, I just wanted to mention that I find it fascinating how accurate Jolt is, for the first time ever. If you remove the hip panels, from a side view he is a dead match for the shot of him walking up to Optimus and Jetfire with Ratchet right before he activates the whips. I'll include pics in a bit.
Agreed. I think all five bayverse movies have good setups actually. They lack follow through because of the ADHD nature of the pacing and story. And yeah Jolt is actually a really cool design. I’ve gained a new appreciation for him since the SS toy box art came out and then I got the figure. The rotf era probably had my favorite robot designs and yet it’s hard to find decent images of many of the robots.
