TFSource is showing January 2022 for Dark Cygnus. Please tell me this is some bad comedy. I really do not want towait 4 extra months to get this compared to every other site out there.

 

Even if Iron Factory is one of the best 3Ps with release schedules at almost 1 figure per month, it's still 3P - anything can happen and delay release.
Maybe the global shipping delays that have affected Hasbro are also affecting them?

Light, hollow. He was sitting next to mini-tarn feeling jealous of his detail. Skyfire just didn’t seem up to this new generation of legends.

 

Hm interesting... IF Cygnus is probably one of my favorite IF figures, but I can see where you're coming from in terms of feel and sculpt compared to Tarn - then again, I think IF Tarn has some of the best presence among all IF figures, even among the newer ones. I think Cygnus has a lot of playability and a fun transformation, but when it comes to just simple poses, it probably isn't as good as some of the newer figures like Tarn and Galvatron. I do like that he was one of the first to come with swappable hands though.

 

You nailed it, he’s continuing to pale, metaphorically, as more of these newer generation of legends comes out. Tarn was one of the first and my first legends figure, and I got Cygnus right after him. He just gets a poor vote in my book based on where he stood as far as my purchase orders.

 

Love this guy, one of my favorite Legends figures. Dumping some quick & dirty shots because why not. I had to sand the outside curve on the c-clip of his "front collar" flap because it kept popping off during transformation to jet mode. Maybe a bit too small for Magic Square/MFT collections if you think of him as a strictly G1 Jetfire/Skyfire but no big deal, at least he's still bigger than Light of Justice.

 

i concur with you. i got it because it's really the only option out there that's a decent enough representation we got right now. but definitely looking forward to an improved offering from another 3P company.

that being said… i still like the mold enough that i went ahead and ordered the SG version.    

 

I'm pretty happy with his height with the group he's in.

Just delivered today. No issues so far but haven't transformed him yet.



EDIT: So after playing with him, he's pretty dope. The colors are fantastic. Didn't realize he had ab-crunch so that's a nice surprise.

1. He comes with closed fists in the box, but he can't transform with them in. However...
2. The gun holding hands (only ones that fit for transformation) and splayed hands have pegs that are slightly smaller and they do not stay in the arm holes. Fall right out on my copy. He has a pointer hand that fits snug.
3. Nowhere for gun storage in bot mode? Maybe I just haven't figured that out yet.
4. The armor pieces on the arms and legs are TIGHT. Careful wiggling those bitches out or you'll stress mark them.

There is a 5mm peg hole.

 

My gun has a smaller peg coming off the 5mm so it doesn't fit in the backpack port. Maybe that isn't supposed to be there and I can cut it off.

Don't do that! The smaller peg is there to mount under the fuselage:

If you don't mount it under the jet, then he has no front landing gear in jet mode.

But yeah, unfortunately, there is no gun storage in bot mode. Although as seen in my previous pic a few posts up:

Someone made a piece to let you mount the gun in that backpack hole, though I can't remember where I got it.
