Probably depends how their Dr Egg sells. If it's a slow seller, maybe they'll make this one more cost effective.

 

 ! XTB definitely caught me flat-footed when I found out that their Quintesson Judge was going to be $150+ and have lights and motorized actions. I would've been happy with just the figure with manually-spinning head. 

Over-engineered and over-priced for the character. I hope they don't do that with Autobot Spike.

What's the ETA and status on this?

 

It's weird. Autobot Spike was easily one of my least favourite episodes from G1. The whole concept seemed especially stupid (even for the shows' standards) and he became really annoying. Nonetheless, I'd still be interested in having one on my shelf   (Ludicrous modern XTB prices notwithstanding).

 

Vaguely between ‘any day now’ and ‘when hell freezes over’ since they haven’t yet released anything new this year.

 

you know... with their menasor trailer taking Eons to release, You gotta wonder just how long it's going to take for them to not only release this thing. but also the rest of the stuff they promoted such as: their springer, kup, quentesson, oh and let's not forget the almost 5 year old Galvatron Render.

pfft! that's just lame.

I guess all they gave a crap about was their incomplete stunticons sets.

 

Three other companies including Takara released their own Inferno and Grapple around the same time (with both Takara and MMC doing Artfire too), so it would have been financial suicide. A shame though, because if they had just put the support beams underneath/inside the vehicle like Takara did (instead of along the top of the alt mode), they might have had the best mould out of the lot, but now we'll probably never know.

I feel like they're been showing renders on this guy for a long time now. I would of expected the next reveal to a physical prototype.

 

I'm okay with it... There's too many preorders up add it is. I need to pay for those first. Lol

Been waiting for updates on this guy for ages since I rewatched Autobot Spike and pretty much fell in love with it, haha.

Just a couple things so far I think should be addressed, i'll try to give them the ol' college try later tonight and make something a bit more visual to add to my descriptions.

1. The eyes should be differently shaped. Instead of very stark triangles on the shouting face, keep the eyes from the stoic face and just enlarge them.



2. Couple extra faces would seal the deal, though if I had to narrow it down to just one, a big ol' grin on his face. Then he'd be able to be happy about the powers he hasn't even discovered yet!

 

I am STILL interested in this. It is an instant buy for me. Part of me hopes hasbro makes him too. I absolutely love autobot x.
