Well, that was the explanation for Marvel at least. As far as I remember anyways. And he was basically Conan there, like here - intelligent, but rash and tends to act before thinking. I dunno, maybe he's just not fluent in whatever language everyone else is speaking. Even other Autobots.

Not a big fan of Arko, a bit obnoxious so far, hoping she grows on me more as it goes on. Grimlock decent enough, though I question a few of the character choices for him so far. Over all pretty interested to see where it goes, though a bit disappointed by the action so far, not super well choreographed and doesn't have the "epic splashpage of awesome" to fall back on so far, but still pretty early on so who knows, maybe they're saving the good stuff for later.

I don’t feel as if the writer is really understanding how to write Grimlock effectively. He’s not really coming off the page as a well-rounded fully-developed character to me. The dialogue is all wrong, as if someone half watched a G1 episode with him in it and based the comic around “Me Grimlock” - he is a much deeper character than that. Less so in season three where he became the comic relief but this Grimlock comes across as season three Grimlock without the comic relief aspect. He’s just there without any real depth to him. “Me not want to punch precious Autobot leader” is still a very painful line to read.

The artwork is fine, and well detailed. Not a fan of Grimlock’s redesign though.

I’m kind of confused, actually. Last comic they said the last time an Autobot was there they disposed of the Red Wizard, hence why the Golden One going bad was such a problem now?

Unless this is the actual apprentice the Quint replaced, having also gone mad?

I was so hoping this was going to be Marvel Grimlock (Mechannibals in issue #1) But it turns out this is Sunbow Season 3 Grimlock

So I just finished issue 3, and I'm dropping this mini from my pulls. I've always liked the *AESTHETIC* of fantasy settings, but I'm usually bored to tears by the stories told in those settings. And the same is true here. I would have grudgingly continued if the art was great, just to have cool artwork, but in my opinion it is messy. Combined with the fact that this has no bearing on the main continuity, it feels like a wasted opportunity, and a waste of my money. Sure, a bunch of stuff is happening, but there's no explanation as to *WHY* it's happening. And I'm not going to spend an additional $10-$15 dollars (is this series 5 issues, or 6?) to find out, only to continue being disappointed by the art.

I'll keep reading but I've also lost interest in this book. It comes across as a poor episode of the season three 80s cartoon.

I don't like Grimlock's design. I don't like how Grimlock is written. The artwork is okay but the whole thing does come across as pointless. I enjoyed Savage Avengers with Conan the Barbarian meeting the Marvel superheroes which was a kind of similar book to this, but much better.

And color me as the exact opposite, as I am loving this series with each issue and far more eager now for the next two issues than I was when I started. Of course I'm not beholden to one particular version of any given character so i have no problem with this being a different Grimlock than G1 or any other version.

When is #5 supposed to be released. #4 was released in November. I don’t care for the book, I just want the wretched thing to be over… finished!

I just read it. An entirely pointless book. It held no meaning or connection to me at all despite having been a fan of Grimlock for the past 35 years.

A single issue spotlight for this story would have been tolerable, but I find it a waste of a mini series that should have gone to someone else.

I mean, it ended better than that Wreckers mini, so there's that.

I’m happy I got to see Grimlock be a badass hero even though the overall plot has been done many times before. The only reason why I stuck with it was because Grimlock was the title character. It reminded me a lot of Army of Darkness.

I read the whole mini run in one evening, and it was a good bit of dumb fun, though I felt the ending wasn't terribly satisfying.

Had I read this over the course of a few months, I'd've also been grinding my teeth, and pulling out my hair!

Still, I'm gunna keep my preorder for the hardcover. :thumbs2:
