The Authentics Shockwave I picked up recently is, objectively, quite a bit better constructed than my 1980's Galactic Man. I would hardly label it crap. It's a sturdy toy with a great range of artiuclation. I have handled it and transformed it multiple times and nothing has broken. Whereas after I had my Galactic Man for a handful of weeks, the battery compartment tab had broken, mostly due to my dad removing the battery to get some peace and quiet and then me reinstalling it, and one of the hip skirts had busted from several transformations. Diecast + plastics does not always = sturdiness.

Do I still love Galactic Man aka Shockwave? Yes, yes I do, and I have a nice minty one I paid a lot for sitting on my desk. But if I had this Shockwave as a kid, he would likely have been my favorite just for the range of articulation, the cool conversion to a spaceship-type thing, and the ability to be played with without breaking easily.

Might be gang molded with Megatron to save costs. I checked and the OG Starscream doesn't seem to have the darker silvery-gray marbleized looking plastic. Or it could just be product shot lighting?

Considering how large these figures are, I severely doubt they're gang-molded. Gang-molding only makes sense for small figures that would otherwise only have a small number of tiny parts made out of a single tooling.

How would you say that Authentics matches up against Cyberverse Deluxe Shockwave? I like the Cyberverse one, but think that Authentics looks really close in robot mode. Can the Authenics one do a crab made?

at least they are re-releasing decidedly "good" toys instead of...1-steps or similar
still sad that optimus knees were not retooled, or better yet, starscream's
probably the same will be true for shockwave if they ever re-release him
other than that, some of these are pretty good

Obligatory \"these are cheap crap, even though they aren\'t aimed towards me\" complaint.

Joking aside, the Megatron and Optimus actually look kinda cool, might have to pick them up.

The BB/SS set keeps coming in and out of stock. Any news on release date for Megs/OP? Literally the only Cyber Battalion toys I'm interested in and Amazon decides to be cagey. :p

Optimus, Megatron and Starscream are all great figures to just fiddle with and not worry about parts and breakage. (Although Optimus and SS lack knees, like many of the other figures).

Bumblebee is atrocious, though. "Bee" warned.

I bought the set to repurpose Megatron into IDW Hyperion and really could care less about OP. However, I got to fiddling with him yesterday, and you're right he's a lot of fun. I think I may need to find some candidates to repurpose/repaint him into because he's a keeper!

It's funny. He doesn't have knees but he gets an ab-crunch.

I love the transformation except getting the Frikking head out. It wants to catch on mine.
