Yep. They didn't even really show off Leo's "shuttle" mode until they talked about the Cannon.

It's such a great touch because they made a point of giving him articulation to let him pose dynamically with his sword, and having that retractable 5mm port means he can actually grip it with both hands without looking goofy.

Are you talking about the slots on either side of his chest? It's hard to tell, but it could be part of how he locks in to the V-Star. You can see those slots are obscured here, which could mean they're tabbed in to something that helps hold it in place.

 

Does anyone know when this is supposed to ship?

I'm floored these weren't the photos used in the reveal. The angles and lighting are sooooo much better here than what they initially showed.

 

I wonder if the v lock can be side mounted like the original? on Leo there is a 5mm port on his waist

 

It clips on one of his waist mini guns, they showed it off in the live stream

In the reveal they used CGI renders, probably because they didn't have a chance to shoot the prototype yet. But agreed, these show off Victory Saber much better!

 

No kidding. Those grey renders were posed horribly. Didn’t stop the figure from looking good but it was still really odd.

Still on the fence with this.  Maybe if it hits all the tiers I might jump in.  I might just be satisfied with my Robot Masters versions.

Yeah, after his contentious interpretation by James Roberts, Star Saber had a much more faithful appearance as penned by Simon Furman in Secrets & Lies (in fact, I almost want to respect Furman by default just for giving us a faithful Star Saber interpretation alone).

BUT! Don't forget we also got Victory Leo in the recent 2019 IDW continuity via Transformers: Galaxies #11 as a member of Colonial Security who helped Ultra Magnus and his crew in kicking Spinister to the curb and saving Alpha Trion. And from what little I know of VL, his interpretation as written by Brandon Easton as the type to bring the pain to the Decepticons is a pretty great as both a short, but sweet introduction to the character for modern audiences and nice fanservice to the crowd who knew about him from day one. (Full disclosure: were I tasked to write the "Storm Horizon" story for the screen, I'd have a scene dedicated to showing VL as a total badass like Boba Fett in Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian. (Thanks, Robert Rodriguez!)

Right? I'll concede that the visible hand syndrome in the initial showing of Victory Saber could have been avoided, but holy slag, there's no visible hand syndrome in these new pics! Keep them coming!  

 

The reveal pics for Star Saber and Victory Leo themselves weren't bad. Victory Saber's pics, on the other hand, were awkward as heck.

 

I love the head-on shot of his spaceship mode, it looks like a one- or two-man battleship with that little cockpit and all those guns.

 

Is booth 721 hasbro or some other company that hasbro is using?
