Yeah, even for me, the lion head i'd argue as well is the detractor. Mainly for me cause I personally saw it going a different direction. Aside from the horn, the teeth i'm not a fan of, I just wish those were gold like the rest of the head, IMO it would have looked cooler.

This. While i'm still in on this set, I agree that it's definitely going too far down it's own path. Though at the same time, not only do I still feel that Predaking will look fucking awesome in the end, after finally opening up both Ferocious and Firmament, I absolutely love them both. So with them in-hand, Tantrum coming sooner or later and then the other two following soon after, I think i'm already gone too deep to back out now, haha. Still gonna get my hands on a proper G1 Predacons set at the end of the day, though.

I absolutely love Landbull. He’s so solid. My only gripe is the yelling face, but if I can find the right donor from another figure, I’m going to remedy that with a bit of surgery. The other one that I own is Ferocious, which suffers from typical arm-bot proportion issues, but I still really like him.

I personally think the lion and the bird look rather busy, but am curious as to how that looks when combined. Probably will suit the gestalt better, but I guess we gotta wait to find out

 

@BIOMEC could you ask if they might show a combined mode even if it doesn't include headstrong? It's just really unusual to be this far into figures and have no idea what the combiner will look like yet. Thanks

 

Well, the designers behind Cang Toys are the same people who designed the TFC Abominus, where the first four figures are already out and we’ve still not seen either Hun-Grr or the combined mode.

Delaying the reveals appears to be just the way they work…

 

I cannot even put into words how much I'd rather square up against a rhino than a damned Kirin...

 

Oh man if only Cangtoys would do their own original combiner design after Volcanicus that uses all sorts of mythical creatures. Dragon (The Asian long type), Kirin, Phoenix, 9-Tailed Fox, Foo Dog, etc.

So, here's another random thought; we know the hands form a crab, and the feet are to become a wolf; despite no reveal details on the head, what animal do you think/would prefer the combiner head be made from? Personally, I've always kinda hated the traditional combiner head for Predaking, so I'm game for some very liberal revisions of it, especially if it becomes another animal.

 

Giraffe. That way maybe people would finally be satisfied with the height of a combiner.

I’ve long (long) suggested a typical headmaster, but I could live with something like a bat.
