    Some background and a request:

I’m not a TF fan - I’m a GI Joe guy. My 12 year old son is the TF super fan. I patron the site for news / deals / sightings in support of him.

He recently saw a review of the Target Origins Bumblebee and wants to use his birthday money for him. I know this already hit our area and showing sold out online. I’m hoping he’ll come back in stock and I can get him with free shipping, but if he’s in store around the VB / Norfolk / Chesapeake area I’d be gladly drive out to pick him up.

So, if anyone sees him again local - might not be a valuable sighting for everyone else, but it would benefit us!

There were like 4 at Skyline a week or so ago but it’s showing empty now… Try the DC/MD forum because there’s some in Brandywine, La Plata, and Owings Mills. Someone might be willing to pick one up along their travels and ship him to you. That’s a bit outside my roaming range or I’d offer.

I’m visiting my parents in Danville and there were 4 in the Target there two days ago. If you would like I can check tomorrow and send you one for cost and shipping.

This is only a chunk of it. Importing out of China right now is a mess too with to few containers, issues with their power grid and various port issues. Then when you get to the US we have equal port issues compacted by a massive truck driver shortage.

Production in the US would be a funny concept, considering people thing Hasbro is gouging on prices of figures now, imagine a deluxe being $50!

If anyone is looking for the cyberverse seeker 4 pk, Ollies in Roanoke has a ton of them. Also a couple apeface and a lot of Ironworks.

You wouldn't happen to be willing to part with one of those five sharkticons you've got for a price would you?

    Also, solid review!

Is it the pessimistic side of me that immediately thinks the employee was just screwing with you and saying "yes" to whatever you asked if they had?

Quite possibly, at least up until I asked them to hold it! It’s frustrating. I’ve had 2-3 employees actually try to be helpful and I’ve had others that you could tell were annoyed that I was wasting their time calling about a toy. Reston Target is on my ban list forever. Back when Slag dropped, I called them and they swore they had it in stock and would hold it. I get there and no one knows anything about it. Then one guy is like “Oh, I do remember her taking that call” but no one could find the item. Even better, they couldn’t find the employee. I was livid, having driven a considerable distance, and their toy dept guy was essentially useless and gruff (granted, I’m sure he was feeding off my fury at the situation) and he practically had to be shamed into calling another store about their inventory. The manager was completely unhelpful and didn’t seem to see the issue, she just said “The girl shouldn’t have promised to put it up for you.” and that was pretty crappy. The toy dept guy finally confirmed Arlington had one and then, almost gleefully, informed me “They have 1 but they’re not going to hold it. You can try your luck there or not, that’s all I can tell you” and I left before I caused a scene. It wasn’t the fact they didn’t have a toy that got me, it was their complete dismissal of the whole thing, their utter disregard for the huge inconvenience. I called Arlington and they had NO problem holding it for me. 45 min later I end up there, the manager knew what it was about and she was VERY happy to be able to help me. She ran to get it and came back with Scavenger…. I felt terrible to tell her that wasn’t Slag because of how genuinely happy to help she was and when she dug into it the whole issue was Target’s DCPI system. She showed me on her machine how Scavenger had the exact same DCPI that the Target website was listing Slag under. Even when you find a sympathetic and helpful employee, Target’s crap DCPI system stands in the way. It’s not always a no win situation, I thank them for my Galvatron and Ark, but it’s just not worth the hassle to me anymore of actively hunting. The dopamine of a successful find no longer outweighs the cortisol from the stress, and it’s self inflicted to an extent so I’m going to set the cat of 9 tails down and stop flagellating myself by actively searching. Just gonna leave it to blind luck and use online purchases to fill the gaps.
