Not going to lie, there's characters on that list that I'd love to see - but 'crucial' is a strong word...

Everything about this is scuffed, down to the name "Bumblbebee".  

 

Really hoping this is the start of a new selects subline for the Studio Series. Gimme that Jazz repaint of Smokescreen Hasbro.

 

Okay I always see your posts and go “wtf” but I kind of want to make an attempt to translate what you’re trying to say.

“He looks like he has a lot of paint on him, and grey+black paint isn’t really a good selling point for a toy or for the people who’ll buy it. A brand new figure would have been nice instead of another one of the many countless repaints we get.”

Unfortunate, but apparently when they made they remolded Berserker into Crowbar, they no longer had access to the original mold, and it costed too much to revert the new one. I think what especially stings is how close it Berserker is to being Crankcase without quite being there. Literally the only changes you’d need are his gold dreads and a removal of the shitty sharpie marker red “x” on his chest.

 

I don't think this can be quoted enough. At first this seemed very much an utterly random, weird thing to do until this was posted. Now it makes perfect sense.

 

not to ruin a perfectly good rant, but this piece likely has nothing to do with what's going on in the main line. It's the movieverse equivalent of a store-exclusive repaint. @Blot upthread made the very reasonable hypothesis that this was supposed to be a Universal Exclusive like their DotM Megatron and is being released to the fan-channels in lieu of (or in addtition to) that.

BUT - as a fan-cannel exclusive, it literally has zero bearing on any failures of characters to appear in the mainline.

It's Bumble, baby!

 

First of all, The Fallen, Protoforms, Que, Devcon, Hatchet, Slug, Strafe, Trax, TLK Barricade, and Onslaught have already been confirmed by leaks to be happening alongside Junkheap, Longarm, Breakaway, Stratosphere, Hound and countless others. So, I don’t really think you’re that justified in getting angry over one repainted deluxe when we’re already getting most of what you’re asking for.

Secondly, what is wrong with this one-off Bumblebee? It’s a fairly harmless and inoffensive fun idea in my eyes to hold over movie fans until we start getting the meatier stuff. Do you really think because of this one release that the MOVIE line will completely ignore a MOVIE character?

 

Guess I\'m the outlier here, I say do more of these N.E.S.T. repaints. I think it\'s a cool concept and it could be interesting seeing different figures in this gray and green color scheme.

Redeco of Offroad Bumblebee

 

Checkmate Bayverse haters this proves Bumblebee is Bayverse.

 

It's cool to see more creative redecos like this, this reminds me of stuff like Allspark power or any of the other movie-based lines with fun redecos.

I will say I don't particularly care for this coloration. A grey Bumblebee is fine, but I wish they had more shades or other colors. As it is, it almost looks like a black and white photo that's been slightly colorized. But it will probably look better in-person, this is just a render.

I wouldn't call this definitive proof of anything by any means, but it's definitely interesting. It's funny how this contains multiple direct Bayverse references (the Allspark, NEST, Sam), but is marketed on the packaging as being part of the 2018 movie. It definitely wrecks the narrative that Hasbro hates the Bayverse and wants nothing to do with it anymore. This along with stuff like the air fresheners in the ROTB prop car, the motion comic on the Bumblebee DVD, and the home video sets that put Bumblebee alongside the Bay movies. It's one thing to dismiss any of these individually for whatever reason, but Hasbro and Paramount sure aren't trying very hard to distance themselves from something they supposedly hate so much.

 

I think if they hated the bayverse so much then they would’ve gone out of their way by now to say ROTB isn’t part of the bayverse instead of this high wire act they’re trying to play by appeasing both sides who like/dislike the Michael bay films.

 

I'll be putting my focus toward characters I want more, but if I get a decent opportunity, I'll pick him up.

 

i like this mold and i like this dude, i also hope we get a blitzwing repaint
