Numbers out my rear end- 30,000 is triple the number of an average Target exclusive? I think I remember seeing numbers for Target exclusive Gammorean Guard on Yakface.com... it was something like 6000 for their ~2000 stores at release, like 3000 for online, then a final second store re-stock of like 3000 for stores months later. I think most of the Hasbro Pulse only Transformers exclusives usually between 5,000 to 10,000?
I think that's really going to depend on how many of them were bought for people's collections, how many were extra bought by stores to have their own stock on release, and how many were bought by people potentially speculating on HasLabs. If the majority were bought for people's collections that would still make them fairly short supply for anyone who gets FOMO after the fact. Especially once any stock bought by online stores dries up. Then you only have the speculators and people who possibly aren't happy with their purchase selling it. Not that I plan on selling mine personally but I am interested in the market for these.
Now that the Galactus project is done, Hasbro should release a new Fantastic Four Team, an Avenger Team, and other characters to go with this piece. Is there a website or somewhere, that has a list of every Marvel Legend made?
Congrats to everyone who secured one, it looks like a mighty impressive piece. I opted not to back it simply bc I have no significant attachment to Galactus. Can’t wait to see y’all bring him home!
Well, in the end, I finally backed it as well. Didn't want to miss the only chance to get a figure this impressive, whose value is only going to go up in the aftermarket. The heralds alone would probably cover a good portion of the cost. And wow. Final total is almost 31k. De-throned the Razor Crest, and 50% more sales than the Sentinel (!!), despite Galactus's higher pricetag and the fact that Sentinel was an army-builder for people who could afford multiples. I'm one of those who got Galactus but not the Sentinel, because Galactus is just more of a singular character to me: more iconic and epic, and more deserving of the giant scale. I guess there were other people who felt the same way! Comparing it to Transformers, the Sentinel would be equivalent to Devastator or Sixshot or something, whereas Galactus is equivalent to Unicron, obviously. There's nothing else on his level, and he's the central threat in an all-time classic story, so I can see him being more of a must-have holy grail centerpiece in a lot of people's collections just like Unicron is. Good luck with that. A year from now, he'll be selling for more than double his Haslab price, I can assure you. I'm also passing on Star Saber. Pretty ironic considering we're all on this forum in the first place because we're Transformers fans... but man, I wish Star Saber looked half as impressive sculpt & design-wise as this Galactus does! Congrats to the Galactus design team, though; they really knocked the sculpt out of the park, especially the helmet and faces. I ended up really getting caught up in the momentum of this campaign; was fun watching it race to the finish line with everyone! Now the year-long wait for the actual figure begins... might give me almost enough time to figure out where to put him!
There's actually a Fantastic Four Retro carded wave coming out early next year: Fantastic Four Marvel Legends Vintage Collection Set of 6 Figures Also, the Wikipedia page is actually pretty up to date: Marvel Legends - Wikipedia
With 30k+ it would be really cool if they decided to throw in some kind of extra bonus after-the-fact to celebrate how well it did and to make up for the lackluster final tier. Seriously, one of these things is not like the other..
Thanks, not a ML collector, but in need of X-Men and piece to go with Gal. If Starsaber was a MP figure at a cost of $300-$400, I would of been in.
Anyone own the Heroclix Galactus from the miniature game? I have one, need to bring it out when Haslabs one ships next year. It is much smaller, but it was well made, but essentially a plastic statute if you did not play the game.
Whelp totally missed that it was 11 pm est that was the cut off time, but it's ok, i wasn't fully vested in it...so it's a good.
Man, I have multiple full cases of Heroclix...never opened a single one. I wonder if I have Galactus and Mangog. Don't remember...
Me, that was how I was gonna display him, however my dumbass miscalculated the end date and screwed the pooch I missed out thought it ended at the end of the 31st, not the end of the 30th
Wait? What?! LOL! I'm going to show this post to my kids! Hahaha! So far it's 3...I have until midnight to decide on the 4th. My eldest kid is calling me insane for having 3, younger boy is asking me if I can give him one...I told him that the figure will be out next year and I need to see his academic resultsssss. I passed up on the barge but I'm thinking having Galactus, Unicron, Castle Grayskull (MOTUC) and Snake Mountain (Super7) should be one heck of a collection + all the TF Titans (sans the Ark). Tbh I'm all about done with these huge playsets and figures. I might be tempted on the Rancor though... Yeah, the Doom head is pretty weak sauce IMO. Kinda bummed by it. At least give us a Kirby-styled head or unmasked head.
….and the lesson is, DON’T Wait! If you’re interested in something then secure it as soon as possible.
Yeah, I'm sure there's some limit to these shared exclusives, at least initially, to allow the partner to sell through their stock. That doesn't explain stuff like the black Hand Ninja selling out, though. Especially for the army builders, just keep them in constant rotation but move the dates out in batches.
