Most credit cards only will do that in a 90 day window. Gonna be a bit of a crapshoot.

    120 days

The main requirement for getting your money back through chargeback is evidence that there's been a breach of contract. There is a time limit on chargeback claims - typically 120 days from the transaction processing date, or from when you expected to receive the goods/service if it's being delivered.

Given Inferno wasn't predicted to be received until 28th May (2 months from the pre-orders going live), there's an argument to be made that it should be 120 days from then, which would bring it to 20th September.

You attract more flies with honey than with ranting, dude. Also I was talking about sammy666, by the way, not this Rick fellow. Unless Rick is sammy666? Are you guys buddies? Unclear.

I'm just saying sammy666 made the situation worse by making people defensive with his aggressive, juvenile tone. If your main goal is to warn people about this scammer, I suggest working on your communication skills.

Firstly, I'm reasonably sure that Rick Loos, Sammy666 and the person in charge of that Facebook page are all the same "crazy nut ranting" individual. I can't believe there's 3 separate people all spouting the same story in exactly the same tone.

But you're absolutely right, if they are trying to warn people, they are going the wrong way about it. If you present yourself like a troll, people will treat you as such, even if what you're saying is the gospel truth.

Tin foil hat crazy theory time - all of these crazy ranting characters are also Dave/Josh. The "nutter with scam warning" character is a double bluff to turn people off of the idea that it's a scam and maybe Josh gets a weird kick out of warning everyone he's scamming them and still taking their money anyway. I have no proof of it, but it crosses my mind from time to time.

Imagine if the bad spelling and poor grammar are calculated crumbs sprinkled throughout posts in all his scams!
His cerebral calling card of intentional incompetence.

    What a prick.

Now THAT is an interesting idea. I kinda doubt it, but interesting ideas are worthwhile even if they aren't correct.

That ranting guy definitely made me suspect a scam less. I suspected the ranting dude of trolling more than anything. He sounded more like a pissed-off rival more than someone making good-faith statements of concern. Maybe that's a standard scammer tactic that I'm not aware of.

In any case - I'm pretty sure the ranting in all those different places is the same guy. The style is extremely similar. That type of thing is hard to fake.

So.. first time commenter on this thread but have been reading it the past few days.

I first reached out to Doomshroom 5 days ago in an email - replying to my original shopify receipt email from way back in March.

I again reached out a second time using the email contact info on the shopify store yesterday.

Still no response to either email.

I think I am at the point of calling my bank.

This is way to fishy for me and the $200 was alot to shell out.

I think in a way.. it really upsets me because I loved the way the Inferno looked. I think all of us who bought in can agree - the sculpt looks on point.

I'll keep you guys posted as to what happens.

    This sucks.

Yeah, I remembered that one of the thrusters and thought it looked god awful. I didn't want to put a pin to anyones hype balloon though. So, pretty much this guy pulled a Killinger of sorts/MAAS Toys? Urgh. Sorry for all you folks. I love Beast Wars myself, but didn't care for the sculpts here so I avoided them, also MP sized isn't my Jam. At least everyone I think is likely to get their money back. I would link to this thread when you put in a claim at Paypal or wherever too.

Start the Refund process sooner than later. Don't want to wait to the point PayPal won't help.

So did this scammer remove the more recent posts on his Facebook saying how he’d look into the matter on the few people who complained about the issues with infernos on his Facebook?
