They also showed the silhouette of the next Arcadanea : Kotobukiya filled their youtube channel with new 360° prototype previews, no real new model here tho, the last 2 (from busou shinki) was already revealed years ago... After their long running ASRA Megami device serie, they introduced a new line, AUV (Accel Unleashed Vanguard) made of the duo Susanoo / Amaterasu. Susanoo have been put on preorder recently, and now Amaterasu had a new silhouette revealed : That can feel not that interesting, but compared with the older reveal : it seems this model has been improved and may be more original. New prototype for their megami device collabo with Evangelion has also been shown, very impressive I think ! And they also show some Exagears scaled (1/24) zombies ! That looks like a lot of fun if you take some painting time !
they're also working on a Not Zeta Gundam and that looks pretty interesting! and BMG is painted hurray here's hoping she goes up for preorder soon!
I wanted to make a Valkyrie reference, but I see the Ebikawa angles on it. Definitely inspired by Abulhool.
Wow, I LOVE the legs on that mobile suit - Count me in. It'd look slick with some camo paint. Got most of my Greifen's legs figured out today (all of one of them only lol) and laid down base colors on her hands. Have been having airbrush issues lately and it's killing my enthusiasm for actually painting anything though - No clue what to do about it other than buy a new airbrush.
Does anyone here own the Megami Device Gear Unit Ganesha and if so, how compatible is it with hexa gear/frame arms stuff? I'm curious to know if it'll work out n look vaguely ok..
Does anybody else get sore hands after hours of building a model kit? I started putting together Heracross on the weekend from A.T.K. Girls and let me tell you, the constant squeezing of the nippers I recently picked up and the amount of force necessary to get some of these parts to be flush, it's making me wonder if I've developed Arthritis.
It happens sometimes for me but mostly when I've been busy on the farm that day/week. If you're having difficulty from fighting with parts fitting together, you can always score the posts with a hobby knife so they slide in better or clip down posts so they seat more flush. If it's your tools giving you fits, I recommend cleaning them up and oiling the nippers with mineral oil. Otherwise, it sounds like your nippers are dull and you have to put more force into every clip.
That's crazy, I just bought them this past week and only started using them. They're brand new and need to be cleaned/sharpened after only starting one model kit? Pretty sure it's my hands. Repetitive motions daily can cause problems for me, the same thing happens lately when I've gamed for too many consecutive days in a row. As for the parts fitting together thing, that doesn't seem to be the issue, I think I'm just squeezing too hard.
If they're new tools then I don't see it being the problem. What brand are they, might I ask? Because I've used double bladed side cutters and while they aren't dull, the grip was uncomfortable.
I am really curious about the eva edition. Seems they did an eva colab previously too when I googled for this one. That one looks like it just came with a separate eva model.
I've actually had the worst of that sort of experience with Frame Arms Girls, Megami Device, and similar. They really want to make sure that base body articulation is stiff to hold all that gear up, and by god, does it take some effort to get all those tiny, tiny pieces all locked together. I can snap together a few Gunpla back-to-back with no issues, but I'll have to take a break after one of those girl kits to give my poor fingertips a break.
I personnaly don't see the difference with a real grade size wise... maybe those mecha musume kits feature more organic themed pieces such as hair, more spiky and intricate nubs, compared with mecha themed pices with nubs often found on plain surfaces, but as far as I'm concerned, I don't see any difference between a gunpla and a Koto Mecha supply / Megami device kit (just did a manipulator yesterday ! very fun kit). Bone calcification can be a cause, but maybe Scrapper6 problem is being too excessive on time spent on a project needing some repetitive movements. Feeling pain is a warning, and like in the other example given (playing games on a regular basis) overdoing something may not be a good idea if it causes pain. Tendonitis could result and it can be very incapacitating, so take care and take some breaks. If this hobby is something you want to invest on, you can try to use a nipper to roughly get the piece out of the sprue, than another one, usually more delicate (maybe a single blade one) to remove and clean what remains. Then sand, then snap the pieces together. That may help doing different motions. You may also try to focus on your movements and try to find out if some of them are not too tensed.

I honestly get sore hands more from transforming transformers, but get where you are coming from. My pace of work is really slow because I do all my prep for painting at once, so I move through kits at a hilariously glacial pace - Sanding generally wears me out more than nipping/slicing bits. I did once mess my hand up really bad with a hobby knife while trimming nubs though, so that certainly made my hands sore!
